haha

i just bought a bum a 6 pack at the store.

do u think it's wrong or cool? the chick i work with gave me shit about it. she is so against giving bums money or anything and i don't understand it. half the fucking bums down here are probably veterans who faught for us in nam and got all fucked up from the war...i think we owe it to them. don't get me wrong, there are a lot of bums who are annoying and threatening, but most of them just want a few bucks to get some cigs or whatever and mind their own business.

i can't stand when ppl are like, "ughh! they need to quit drinking and get a job". yea like i'm sure they can just waltz right into some place hiring and get a job at this point. it's like who fucking cares if they'd rather have a beer than a sandwich. they've got a shitty ass life so whatever makes them happy. personally if i was depressed and homeless i'd rather have beer too.

Thumbs up

At least it was a 6 pack and not money. So you gave him something but don't have to worry about him getting drugs (which is why alot of people don't give bums money).

I say good deed for the day.

I agree, i got loads of dodgy looks for buying a homeless bloke a McDonalds breakfast meal. He was freezing cold and had a stray dog with him. It makes you feel really good inside for doing it, i dont see what some peoples problem is.

screw the 6-pack... buy him a 60oz of the hardest shit you can find. Buy him a case of 60oz. With any luck the poor bastard will die of alcohol poisoning. I don't understand people that want to help these people. I mean really, if they want to wollow in self-pitty then let them. If they are lucky they will drink themselves to death quickly and end their misery.

Of all virtues hope is the most evil, as it prolongs human suffering - Nietzsche

well i was standing in line and he came up behind me all dirty w/ his backpack and this sad look on his face, and he was sorting through his crumbled up dollar bills getting ready to pay for it, so i just grabbed the 6 pack and paid for it with my stuff. he was so happy and he was like, "man it must be my lucky day how come you're buying this for me" and i was like, "oh i'm just feeling nice today" haha

u know what's weird? about a month ago, i was at the same store buying something and there was a bum standing in line behind me just like today w/ a six pack and i felt really bad for him and it didn't really occur to me to buy it for him until after i walked out of the store. then i was like kicking myself all day about it and i felt bad and wished i had bought it for him.

wouldn't it be cool if it was the same bum? i don't really remember what the first one looked like cuz i didn't like stare at him.

lol, anyways, I'd have to agree (kinda). If I bought a homeless guy something, I'd be worried that he'd hang out in the same place (which is on my route) and I'd constantly feel like I'd have to buy him stuff everyday, or atleast every now and then (and I'm always strapped for cash, plus I feel weird saying no :/ ).

Anyways, why a beer than a sandwich? I dunno, you're right though their lives suck, if I were them I'd start purse-snatching or something to try to boost funds. I mean even if they got caught doing that, so what? They get sent to jail, have a warm place to sleep, three meals a day, clean showers, etc. sounds better to me

But in all honesty I'd probably just kill myself if I were homeless, I couldn't live like that

I feel bad for homeless people, but, as Jay said, I don't give them money, because I don't know what they'll be using it for. I almost want to carry some canned food, in my car, to offer them. Then, if they're really hungry, they'll take it, and, if not, they won't.

If it made you feel good to do it, and it made him happy, I dont see that it was a bad thing to do. I wouldn't have personally done it but thats irrelevant here.
