DJ Three was a dissapointment last night @ Sully...to me, at least...
He started out just ok, and then when it came time for peak hour tracks, he played tried and true bombs that everyone knows already (including Holden's remix of Sky was Pink)...truly a dissapoint since he owned you and everyone you ever came in contact with @ Crobar when he opened up for Sasha...
maybe he was getting blown from a chick who was on her knees underneath the turntables...maybe he was pissed for getting kicked out of his apartment...maybe it truly was an offnight...
only TA i saw was avikonen and he left b4 i could say hi...oh well...

We have similar tastes. In my opinion, I think we were both looking for a Sean Cusick set that night Three is okay, but stylistically non-discript. Was glad he got to play out though cuz I see him mostly opening for other people though. Had to leave early but was glad I dropped by.
IF YOU DON'T SHOW FOR CHABLE/SEAMAN TONIGHT YOU ARE A LOSER :P

I have a 7AM flight to catch. I'm going down for a disco nap and then off to cielo and then work. Dude, unless your test/assignment is due tomorrow you should attend part of it! Chable on Cielo's system - how often does this happen???? I will go down in seizure when if he plays The Light

damn...
were we at the same party?? i thought three ripped it... i got there waay late (got dragged out of bed actually) but caught the last 3 hours of his set-- he went til 5:30... he mixed it up with tech house, electroy funky breaks and straight up bangin' techno.. had the crowd dancing and screaming til the very end when he closed with (get this) eurythmics "like lovers do" (and dedicated it to his girlfriend...how awesome is that?)...
anyway cielo was pretty good last night. marcus james (opening dj) played very proggy vocal stuff, then chable took to the decks around 12:30... started off very melodic and progressive and mixed into very techy shit and ended off with some bangin progressive track to set it up for dave. nice transitions but mainly just straight blends. the left speaker kept cutting in and out so it was a little annoying (maybe because i was right by it, haha) but it was a good set overall.
dave seaman tore it down for sure... he had a very dirty techy sound and it got a really good crowd response.. i had to leave early so i don't know how it all went down, but the party was happening around 2-2:30..

Have you taken up smoking crack? Honestly, Three's first hour did suck balls. However, everything past that was quality stuff. Anyone I talked to said that it was one of the best Sullivan Room parties this year, if not the best. I guess if you went in there expecting epic trance, you probably would be disappointed. Just because a few tracks were recognizable doesn't mean that the entire set was bad. The room stayed packed till the lights came on. I guess no one who closed it out had any musical taste.

BTW, come to think of it, didn't Highmay leave about an hour or so into Three's set? I guess if that was all I saw of Three, I'd probably would agree with him about the set sucking.
