DJ Rule Number One:
Get good gear the first time.
I know you are trying to be cost conscious but, eventually you will want to upgrade your equipment if you start off with mediocre stuff - which will cost you more in the long run than if you just purchased the good gear the first time.
DJ Rule Number Two:
Test the gear first!
Lots of people will reccomendations about brands but, ultimately YOU are going to be the one playing on the equipment. If it's some funky brand, so what, as long as you know it's going to work for you. When it comes to tables, lots of people reccomend Techs; I reccomend Techs but, get out there and play with EVERYTHING so you know what else is available and you don't shortchange yourself.
DJ Rule Number Three:
Have fun dude.
Just wait 'til you get your gear and you will shit your pants with excitement.
On another note DOOMBOT, I'm going to be moving to Philly/Jersey area. Is Manayunk a pretty nice neighborhood? I've never been to Philly or Jersey and I'm trying to find a place to live up there. It's just hard looking at stuff on the internet and I have no idea what the neighborhoods are like. Any help is appreciated.
