Thanks Beyer, that is VERY useful, but what does Smart Disable do exactly? I'm already using the Delta (M-Audio) ASIO driver. Is there anything in the setup that I might be missing? It is constantly jumping on me! My PC setup is as follows:
AMD Athlon 3000XP
1GB DDR 400 RAM
300GB SATA 150 HDD
Delta Audiophile 2496 Sound Card (ASIO Driver)
128MB Radeon 9550 Graphics Card
Evolution MK-461 Midi Controller
Any help woudl be much appreciated. |
Damn!! what is taking you so much CPU Power man! that is a great computer!!
Nothing compared to what I use, Pentium III of 1 Ghz, 512 PC100 RAM and 60 GB of HD.
Mine used to crash a lot before I did the following.
* Work a project in different flp files, one for the Intro, another for the break, and the last one for the climax and outro.
* Render to .wav those synths which you see take a lot of CPU power, like Pro-53 and Albino, if you use a lot of these, you can render the melodies you make with them and use the wav file instead of the VTSi plug in.
* Try to use one VST effect for multiple synths.
For example, you use a reverb preset, try to use it in VTSTi 1 and 2, instead of using a different reverb preset for each one of them.
* If you happen to have Wavelab or Soundforge or Cubase SX (any version). Render your final work, without any type of effects in the Master channel, and master the track in wav format in wavelab for example.
*Do not run several programs at the same time, like if you have Cubase SX 3 and Fruity Loops , then work in one at the time.
