What was your first big rave think long about it and say how it was and what you thought about the dj's. Mine was Caffiene Sex-Machine in New Orleans La. It was great and it started me into the scene.

My first and one of the favorites was in the huge exhibition hall with ASTRAL PROJECTION, and it was unbelievable !!

It wasnt really a rave or anything, more of a concert, I saw Brooklyn Bounce in Concert like...4 years ago..that got me started...

The first time I went to a rave was the moonshine tour with keoki, micro, dave adue, cirrus, dara, ak1200, and dieselboy at buzz in washington dc. The longer version is directly below and below that is the shorter version.

My first rave.....

At this point in time I've only been listening to techno for a couple of months now and have never been to a real party and I've only rolled one other time.

First off allow me to set the scene....the sky is clear the air is cold. A buddy has driven 2 hours to meet me.... then we head for the club....A place called Buzz @ Nations in Washington DC. At this point I have no idea what to expect. We walk right into the club with no wait in line. As I enter the building I can alread hear the thump of the bass. Instantly I am over welmed by all the new sites and sounds. Right now we are standing in the front room and I am being introduced to all my friends club buddies. I wonder around a bit and get the feel for the place. Now lets fast forward to around midnight..... My friend tells me to say Ahh and tosses a pill down my throat. (something I was not expecting) Then he hands me a set of glowsticks and a bottle of water, turns me around and gives me a gentle push towards the main room. I look back to see if he is following me only to realize that he is no where to be seen. I head into the main room and get the feel for it. All off the sudden the place comes alive and I can't stop moving....I dance for who knows how long.... : ) I am in need of a break so I head out onto the deck where I run into some of the people I came with. I sit down and tell them of my night so far.... they all smile. Again they tell me to say ahh.... I'm expecting another pill so I do.... this time though someone drops 2 drops of liquid on my tounge. I chill out on the deck for a little while longer then head back inside when I feel my energy returning. Back inside I explore the club some more, up and down the stairs, from the main dance floor to the chill out area on the third level. As I head up the stairs once again I see my friend.... as I walk by he drops another pill down my throat : ) after that the night becomes one wonderful dream. I am all over the dance floor meeting new people. Eventualy I end up out on the deck again. I look up and I have the Dj framed with a full moon glowing behind his head. Then it happens I realalize what day it is.....it's October friday the thirteenth with a full moon, what more can one ask for : ) Never have I experienced a night like this and never will I again. I learned so much that night, my entire world change. Since that time I have been at the club almost everyweekend helping to make everyones night the best it possible can.

The short version.

It's friday the thirteenth of october the moon is full and the crowed is jumpin. You know how most people are babysat their first time at the club..... well that wasn't my case.... I had 2 pills and 2 drops of liquid tossed down my throat. I was handed a set of glowsticks and a bottle of water and told to go have fun, do what ever I wished as long as I didn't hurt anyone. And when I turned around my friends had disappeared. I was on my own to explore this new world. I still continue to explore this world every weekend, things will never be the same again : )

i havent been to a party as such im only 15, 16 in a fortnight, but ive been to a coule of house parties and under age do's which were all shite and the music was worse

First party i was part of. Well for some of you it might sound VERY familiar, and some wont even know what it is, but for me it was INNERCITY.
As I am from holland, i did have the chance to be part of the biggest indoor trance event of the world, and as every time it was in the Amsterdam RAI. 60.000 people going all wild to about 50 DJ's.
Tiesto, Sven Vath, Remi, Jean, PAUL VAN DYK, Marco V, Sander Kleinenberg, Green Velvet and many, many more.
Good thing was also that it was 12 hours, from 9 pm till 9 am...
Damn i was broke when i got out...
We (Me and 2 friends) went as 3 inmates, dressed up with black & white striped outfits, and a custom made innercity cap. The cap only cost me 5 dollars, but i've been offered over 50 bucks for it, although i didnt sell it... Too much of a memory to me, and i still have the cap today. I've ordered 15 new ones now, and I'm sure i'll be able to get a bit of profit out of it, or at least get even with my current costs... (A new outfit, worth about 250 bucks.. ) :-)
Together with the thought that A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y >>NO-ONE<< uses glowstix or strings in holland here, and me taking glowstrings matching my outfit, I'm sure I'm gonna be on this years official video again :-)

bought my tickets the first day they were available, and every dollar will be worth it, i know...

I'm sure there be a fll report here in the forums on how it was, so if ur interested, stay tuned for only another month...

TRANCE ENERGY on October 20 2001, was my first "real" trance party, Veronica Beach Power 99 wasn't really trance (alice deejay etc hehe), but T.E. was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! over 20.000 people going crazy on judge jules, scott bond and johan gielen...
As HaZZa said, december 29th is still way too far away...

1997 ... Technostate ... actually my third party but the one that got me into the scene. i started out in the gabber/hardcore scene that my friends dragged me too. i was quite a metalhead back then. i liked the pounding bass and hi-nrg of it all so i went back for more. the second time out i saw ron d. core and the whole way there we were listening to a tape by demigod. those two dudes were the top of LA hardcore back then. so after the party i pick up a flier for Technostate that stated ron d. core, demigod, and a host of other there for only $15. i was like WTF?!?! so my friends and i planned for it. the day came and we followed the directions from the info line to an art museum in LA. then we had to go to a certain painting and someone there handed us directions and map point and we handed them $5. this was the undaground days peeps. we followed the map point to an empty parking lot. we were kinda pissed cuz we though we got ripped off cuz it was a huge parking lot and dead empty. we stepped outside expecting to hear the music so we could follow the bass to techno enjoyment but it was very quiet except for the sounds of some other party kids hanging out by their cars. so we went over to them and started hanging out and playing some hacky sack. some other party kids arrived and we're all hanging out and then this huge bus pulls up and the doors open and the driver tells us to get in. all the party kids are standing around staring at each other cuz we've never seen anything like this before but we all pile in and they transport us to this burnt out warehouse. that place was so freakin' dirty. by the end of the night my clothes were all black (was wearing a white t-shirt and beige baggy pants) and i was coughing up black stuff for days. but i digress. so i get inside and i go to the hardcore room and they have a wall of speakers. a literal wall of freakin' speakers that are just pounding with some nice hard gabber. i'm dancing away and amazed at the candy kids that are actually climbing this wall of speakers to get to the top to dance on them. i was in there for a good two hours before i got tired out and then i went to the jungle room to mellow out for a bit. watching some dudes with some kick-ass free-styling. my two friends were nowhere to be found as it should be at most parties. then i feel rested enough so i go back to the hardcore room and i notice this scaffolding that ran around the place that i hadn't noticed at first. so i climb it to the second floor area and i'm just wandering around and i stop and look out over the dancefloor. the bass is pumping, the people are moving and it's all like this gigantic organism. it was the first time i realized how everyone becomes part of this giant mass when they go out to a party. all sense of individuality is lost and we all merge to become something greater than ourselves. then all of a sudden the music cut out and everybody stopped dancing. i was like WTF?!? then this one bass note rumbled through the speakers and it was so low and so loud that i could feel my insides shaking with it. then the mass on the floor that had stopped dancing started to scream and when the music kicked back in everyone went crazy including myself. i ran down to be a part of them again and i haven't stopped since.

i've never written about this before. thnx for the thread. brings back some old memories.

My first rave was in 1988 in New Orleans, it was in an abandoned wherhouse, the Convention center has since replaced it. Cant remember who played, but I've been hooked ever since.
