Dunno Digital Cams VS Film

Im posting this message for a classmate, he is doing an english paper on of course digital camera vs regualr film. Naturally for some reason hes having trouble finding facts on the film side.

Does anybody know any sites that would have info for example: the advantages of regular film over digital. That sort of content.

Anything is helpful.

Cheers!

film is still better picture wise but digital is cheaper, easier to use and will eventually get better as technology improves.

film is still better, unless you get one of thoes $8000 super cool digis, that take thoes odd looking "3d" pictures .

Digis need to move away from pixilated design...

digicams lack the dynamic range since they still capture at 8 bit and can only resolve 256 colours of depth. That means from whitest white to blackest black is 256 levels. That's why digicams have trouble resolving accuratelly images with high contrast. Luckilly digicam producers will be soon moving to 16 and 32 bit capturing which will be more than enough to bring high dynamic ranges and more accurate pictures.
