DJ Kenosis - Sonic Boom , epic/tech/psytrance live mix
This is a live mix I did for Afterhoursdjs.org a few weeks ago and liked it enough to release it. It has the strongest 'sound of 99' feel that I've ever had in a set but never strays from my sound and doesn't succumb to cheese.
Starting out with the unreleased track "Unbreakable" from up-and-coming producer Sunquest as well as his remix of the classic "Sunrise at Palamos", Sonic Boom starts off aggressive and gradually increases the energy through to "Tribute to the Past". From here it takes a darker turn and finishes with psy-influenced "Twisted" and Oliver Prime's scorching remix of LSG - Netherworld, ending finally with Electric Universe - The Prayer at nearly 145 bpm.
Sunquest - Unbreakable
MIKE - Sunrise at Palamos (Sunquest remix)
Alex Morph vs. Eric Prydz - Unification vs. Call on Me
O'Callaghan and Kearney - Restricted Motion
Carl B - Radiance
Nu Nrg - Astralis
Aerodrome - Tribute to the Past
Active Sight - Adrenalin
Mojado - Naranja (Dmitras' Vision)
Miika Kuisma ft JOOF - Twisted
LSG - Netherworld (Oliver Prime remix)
Electric Universe - The Prayer

I never said goa . Twisted is psy, Netherworld has psy influences, and The Prayer is psy/goa (depending on what you want to define it as).

That twisted trk is not psy trance as all you are doing to jumping on the bandwagon [ hey look at me i play psy ]
I've been play psy for long enough to know the difference , John is bringing out a sub label soley for genre and that trak in question is not !!!!!.

Calm down, dude. I do know the difference as well, and I think you're being far too narrow in your definition of psytrance. It's ok if you have different opinions on 'exactly' what it is, but according to me (and according to psyshop, among others ) it IS psy. Not all psy sounds exactly like Electric Universe/ Infected Mushroom just as not all epic trance sounds exactly the same. Like all other subgenres of trance, psy evolves and splits off into many different hybridizations as people explore different sounds and alot of other tracks that fit more squarely into other subgenres borrow a few psy influences.
Please don't accuse me of "jumping on the bandwagon" as I've been playing psytrance for a while now (in LA I've been pushing others for a while now to play psy as well).
But regardless of what you want to call it, just enjoy it.

I know you would like this . Btw, using the flange effects on Unbreakable is really fun!

Agreed, that was definitly one of the better parts of the mix. Good job by the way, really enjoyed it.

Thanks man . The feel from the beginning of it reminds me a little of Magic 6 or Tiesto's Feb. 2000 set on Dance Department (except, of course, that all the tracks on Sonic Boom are recent: most are Jan/Feb/March 2005). I'm still undecided as to whether I like this one better than Orbis Tertius or not.
