Smiley DJ Tiesto in Atlanta 11/23 review

Well, I just got back from Atlanta to see Tiesto at Club NV. I got there really early and the place was empty. I didn't like the club. It looked like someone's basement. I heard the last few songs of Kolia's set. He was pretty good. And he played Goldtrix - Trippin, which is one of my current favs.

Next was Noel Sanger. I thought he was OK. Nothing too exciting, except he started to get the energy going at the very end.

....a little before 1 am Tiesto rolls in. I was already in the DJ booth, and when he and Arny (from Blackhole) came up, they remembered me from past shows. So I got to stay up there the whole time, which was cool. He started off progressive. He played Obsession for me, which the crowd loved. After a few progressive tunes, he went into some older stuff. He told me "I guess they like old-school here" and that's what he started playing, with some new tunes throughout. Here are some I remember (in no order):

PPK - Ressurection (Space Club)
Push - Strange World (2000)
Ralphie B - Massive
4 Strings - Into the Night
Iio - Rapture (Armin Rmx)
Moogwai - Viola (AVB Rmx)
Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (O Lieb Dub)
Chiller Twist - Strings Unlimited (I think that's what he said)
King of Clubs - Revelation (Airwave)
Binary Finary - 2000 (Gouryella Remix) (He was excited to play this one!)
Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (Pulser Rmx) TUNE OF THE NIGHT
Kosheen v Tiesto - Hidden Flight
Green Martian - Industry

he stopped for a minute at the end, then played:

Urban Train
Silence

stopped again and signed a bunch of stuff, then played

Jan Johnson - Flesh (Tiesto)

and that was it. maybe some more tracks will come to me or someone can help fill them in.

Once again, Tiesto ruled the crowd. The place was packed and it got hot. The walls started sweating. But the place was jumping.

Here was the news I got from Tiesto and Arny:

the new Gouryella will be produced only by Ferry Corsten. Arny said that Tiesto and Ferry don't get along so well anymore. He told me why but I couldn't understand what he was saying.

Tiesto said he IS playing at Exit (2) in mid-December.

All in all, a great party. I managed to get one of the new Blackhole t-shirts and a copy of Magik 7. I don't know what it is about Dutch DJs, but they're always so nice. I was reminded again why I like Tiesto so much.

RESPECT.

-any other TAs that were there, let me know what you thought.
