Dunno lyrics/vocals question - (and titles too)

Hey everyone,

I was wondering...
When you produce trance music, how do you decide whether you want to include lyrics / vocals? And once you've decided to include them, do you write them yourself or get them from another source?

Also, on a related note...
how do you decide on a title for your track?

Thanks.

Rachel

At the moment, the only time i have the chance to put a voice on a tune is if im remixing one, and so all the words/title has already been done for me.

I usually think of a word, look up the word on google or in a thesaurus and find a word related to the one I first though of

Weird isnt it!

I ussualy do only in remixes but occasionaly i have a few girls come in i know and do single vocals just short cuts and then put em in my mix.

my cousin she has great vocals i usually have her come by and then we figure out vocals by the flava of the track if its funky we go funky if its soft we go soft with the vocals.

the chick next door to me used to do vocals for some tracks back in the day early nineties dancefloor stuff shes 38 now shes african american and got vocal power.

she heard me blasting away and wanted to come by and do some stuff i havent had anytime tho

that's cool.
do you write your own words too? how do you decide what your vocalists will sing about? cuz a singer can do funky or soft or whatever on the vowel "ah" if he/she knows what he/she is doing. lol

well

Alotta times i have a track made and while im working on it i jot down variouse things that could work for lyrics.

i might be working on the breakdown and say "jeez ya know what might sound good here"

and then i call whoever over and say ok heres what i want she/he takes a listen they then just go with the flow.

Once i did a track for my cousins friend she had the vocals already it was a tuffy but i did it and it didnt sound too bad i guess.
