Actually, I was referring to the image electroclash artists make for themselves, cos it is very compatible with your erm, rather outgoing attitude like you have explained to us earlier. Go listen to Miss Kittin - Frank Sinatra, you'll see what I mean. 
As for the electroclash bandwagon-issue, I agree with you. But on the other hand, a lot of the music being labeled electroclash has little to no substance, or just steals ruthlessly from earlier pioneers like Afrika Bambaataa, Heinrich Müller or Kraftwerk. So I can understand the criticism. Neil Landstrumm didn't call one of his tracks "Gigolos Trapped In Retro Hell" for nothing.
