Pvd

i have [[ LINK REMOVED ]]
for a long time...and i'm always like " " when i'm viewing the beggining and the end.
in the beggining of the set, a bald guy (his face really pisses me off) is searching in pvd's record case, and he's throwing away some vinyls...
at the end of the set, another guy turns off the turntable....

pvd was a big name at 2000....how the hell he accepted that someone throwed away his vinyls and after that someone else pressed stop at his turntable???

ok this is not a strange thing....i've been told by club owners what to play, they told me to stop earlier than i was supposed to stop...and thats the main reason i've quit djing, its better to play in my bedroom what i like than to been told by a stupid club owner what to play....anyway

the question is:
big djs have to tolerate shit like this?? this is how the industry works even with the big names???

The bald guy at the beginning was the DJ who was on before Paul, and he was throwing the vinyl from his record case, not Paul's, to the crowd. And theguy turning off the turntable at the end of the set looked like one of the event organizers. From what I gather, those events run a pretty tight schedule and it seems like Paul wasn't pissed off at all. He was smiling as he left the booth.

The 'bald guy' is Westbam, a very good friend of PvD's. If he is throwing records out to the crowd it will be from his own box, or if it is PvD's then it will obviously be records that he has permission to give out. No DJ, big or small would ever just let some random throw out records from their box, don't be thick.

And this event was Mayday (2000 to be exact) where each DJ has to adhere to a very strict 60 minute set. When PvD's 60 min's were up the organisers hit the off button. It happened at Mayday 2002 as well right slap bang in the middle of Dreamland.

Edit: This was one of my favourite set's of all time.

we are alive, had 2 minutes to end....2 minutes isnt enough to ruin the event and surelly not enough to destroy the whole schedule...
that sucks!!!

Don't be silly, it didn't really ruin anything really did it? And the track had hardly even reached the breakdown, there was more than just 2 minutes left. A few minutes more for PvD would mean a few minutes less for the next DJ, so yes it would be enough to destroy the whole schedule. If you had been to one you would understand.

or it would mean 60 minutes for the next dj and a few minutes more for the whole event

anyway, i'm off, we've a trance party tonight and we must go earlier to the club to set up a decent monitor (cause the monitor the club has on its own sucks big time)

I don't really know how someone can come this far into a thread and still not 'get' the point.

at an event like that...if you have 50 dj's...and each finishes their last track you end up adding an hour or two to the event not just a few minutes...
