19 minutes into it and overall a great mix. A bit too prog for my tastes but also has some nice bass lines that I can groove to. Your programming seems pretty well thought out; each track flowed into one another well and complimented the previous. Your transitions were smooth but nothing very creative going on there; just standard matching,EQing, fading- which of course works great, I just like to hear a dj get creative with it sometimes. I dont know if it was my head phones or the recording but I think I heard some static for the first few minutes, I'll double check another time.
40 minutes into it and still proggy.. its cool though there've been some nice tracks to keep my head bobbing. But also, there were a few places where I was falling asleep. Im just too much of an NRG \ Hard-Fast-kick-your-ass trance kind of guy to sit and listen to mellow stuff, esp while at work.
Great tunes though I'll keep it around for a while on my work pc. Thanks.

Whoa, thanks for the feedback. I know all too well where you're coming from on the energetic Trance kick. I love tracks that have that definitive kick. I wanted to keep a chill vibe on my Pacific Trance mixes though, so I understand completely.
I think I'm finally comfortable with my beatmatching to where I can start getting creative with my blending. I'm kind of lost as to where to start though: )

It's aaallll about experimenting- and this is coming from a guy whos only been at it for five months Play with the FX[if you have them] If you dont try something like this: when you know a bass line is about to kick in slowly fade out the Lows and timming it just right you'll have it close to or all the way faded out RIGHT before the new hard hitting bass line is about to kick in, then crank up the bass JUST as it hits. It kind of gives an affect like you're drawing the music away from the crowd then BAAMM right back in their face! Something I like to do a lot, but I play NRG so it provides a better set up for something like that.
The static I thought I heard is between 4:40 - 5:30... I guess its part of track, I was just hearing a bunch of treble which sounded like static. Maybe you had both records playing then? I dont know just sounded weird in these inexpensive headphones I have at work.

Thanks for the tips. I think I'll try some of that while practicing.
I really need to get some proper monitors for next time I mix though. It was a bit rough on the speakers I was using.
