slayer 2

Hi, I just had a couple of questions.
1. Is slayer 2 much better than slayer 1?

2. Is there a better product on the market than slayer which does a similar job?

Thanks

i don't know much about slayer, but Steinberg Virtual Guitarist is supposed to be pretty good. Search that.

Any cheap guitar and amp will sound 1 million times better than any one of the guitar simulations...

slayer 2 sounds muuuuuuch better than slayer 1, but still they wont ever come close to a real guitar, amp, and effects. the nice thing though with slayer 2, is that you can use it as an effect and just experiment with it a bit. but if your looking to make a guitar line in a track, i wouldnt recommend spending your money on it. but you know, if you dont have a guitar lying around or an amp then i suppose its ok for the mean time. i find that it sounds insanely cheap, and of course will never give you the same timbre, velocity, freedom, etc, as it would with a real acoustic guitar.

thanks for your replies. I'm aware that slayer two doesn't sound anything like a real guitar but the sound I'm trying to achieve isn't intended to be realistic.

I just found that after playing around with slayer 1 for a while you can get some pretty cool, but unrealistic lead sounds.

I really just wondering whether there is another better kind of electric guitar simulation

i tend to disagree, i enjoyed using slayer 2. when blended into a song, i felt that i could actually 'buy' that sound to be real. if anyone has a place i could host a song, i could put up a small preview. i used the pitch bend wheel, and some knobs to control tone to add to the realism a bit. i think using it as a lead guitar might be tricky, but as a rhythm guitar, hell it convinces me.

'unrealistic lead sound'? there is no such thing
about better kind of simulation - you could maybe try putting any plucked synth (for example, revitar) through amp&cabinet simulator such as native instruments' guitar rig or amplitube. or get a friend with a guitar and record him
a friend of mine once played a guitar through amplitube, and it sounded wicked.

i run my roland TD-3 drums, my bass, and my electric into sonar and have fun with different VSTs. can make some really wicked sounds man! my favorite VSTs for playing with that are definatly anything from Ohm Boys. Notably, Ohm Force. Esspecially the bass put through that little thing, just mint.
