Protection was a collab of Massive Attack, Nellee Hooper and Tracey Thorn (singer/writer, 1/2 of EBTG). The '2 different versions' thingy is probably due sort of mislabeling because there is only 1 original version which features Tracey on the vocals + a handful of remixes, both vocal and instrumental. The version on 'Hackers' is most likely the original, 'Album Version/LP Mix'.
