Hi everyone just a quick question.

How do i make the kind of sound that i have attached?

Im talking about the synth sounding bit but don't know how to explain it the tune sound maybe.

Also the bass can i make that style of bass with Albino?

And I realy like that stlye of kick is that just a compressed kick cause it sounds more of a thud sound than a bang sound with a lot of hi end like in trance.

Thanks in advance.

I think I get you. It sounds to me that the producer of this song, whatever song it is, is using an effect which I can't remember the name of. It has been discussed somewhere around this forum. Eric Prydz uses it in "Call on Me". What the effect does is it lowers the volume of the bass when the kick kicks in, creating some sort of whoopy effect. Don't know if it's any help to you.

I can't tell what you're talking about from the sample you've posted, a longer sample with a better description would get you a better response. Putboy is talking about ducking using the kick as a trigger for sidechain compression. This basically squashes whatever sound is on the compressor channel when the kick sounds. Hope this helps

I believe the effect he's talking about is sidechaining

ok well the lead is very simple and can be made with almost and VA vsti like Pro53...it was so short that I could hardly tell what was going on but I think there might have been some guitars in there too?? for that sort of cleche type of lead all you have to do is play 4 chords in a succession of 2's which would make 2 of the same chords played back to back 4, or you can do whatever you want. The trick here in this type of music is teh bassline, which is very tricky and not your standard trance type of thing...its less driving and more supportive than an actual forground for rhythem. The Bassline should support your lead but not in a way that they are one in the same...you also need the slight tension in notes. Sometimes you can even get away with not even having a bassline and leaving some good bottom end on your lead and using that as the basis of the track. This type of music is very repetitive and you have to use filter as your key element to progression so nothing gets boring and sound like a loop for 6 minutes. If your gonna go funky house/disco style, remeber to switch up your repeating lead every once and awhile to give it some flare and change. These are just basic things you can do to get you going...be creative and most of all have fun.

It's done by a big big compression. I think this is a very ugly compression but it's done like this.

compress
compress and compress some more.

I have that full track on 12" and its not particuarly well produced.

You have to bear in mind the source of the sample and the processing thereof has a great deal to do with the subsequent mix and production.
Its a thin sample, so to hide that and also hide any spill remaining in the sample, it gets compressed.

You are also limiting yourself a gret deal working soley in the virtual studio world- real heavy compression comes from real compressors , normally sidechained and then compressed again.
Several peeps i know have a compressor permenantly on each insert on every channel of their console, and then a pair of (very very expensive) valve compressors over the final outputs.
its how you get that 'french' sound.

And its Pablo- 'all we need'. I dont care if the reissue does say its by 'Dj Antione'!
