I know this guy, a CPC member who supported Harper for leader, who was one of Belinda's biggest critics during the leadership race. He's the author of the photoshop campaign against her.




Anyway, here is his letter to her:


Dear Belinda:

Thanks for proving that every accusation I made against your character and your judgment and wisdom was the absolute truth. I feel so much better now that I don't have to bite my tongue for the sake of party unity.

You are where you should be. It will be interesting to see who is dumber and more power hungry, you or Martin. We both know you fully plan to oust him and become Liberal leader, and I look forward to seeing two rich, amoral Liberals go after each other once you are kicked back to the opposition side. Well, that assumes you get re-elected I guess.

i think my letter was a little more mature.

But the pic is definately funny. Im sure some ass will yell sexism though even though plenty of men have been made fun of in politics in the past in worst ways. Just open your daily paper to see political cartoons.

The move drew scorn from Conservatives across the country, sparking personal attacks on the MP, who represents the Ontario riding of Newmarket-Aurora. “She sort of defined herself as something of a dipstick, an attractive one, but still a dipstick, with what she's done here today. She is, at the end of the day, going to paint herself as something of a joke,” Ontario MPP Robert Runciman said of the move. I dont get it. People make fun of politicians all the time. So its not sexist to make fun of brian mulroney's chin but it is sexist to make fun of Belinda's blonde hair? Its not sexist to call stockwell day or joe clark old dinosaurs but it's sexist to call stronach a dipstick? As for the political whores comment, i do think that crossed the line a little but i think it was probably taken from the famous line by American humourist P.J. O'Rourke who famously described politics as a "parliament of whores," He was of course reffering to men, not women at the time.

Personal attacks are very common in politics. Has anyone ever seen a political cartoon? Screaming sexism here is nothing more than their own brand of smear tactics and im not buying it.

good for you for sending it (even though I'd be writing a letter congratulating her for leaving Harper's incompetent leadership behind).

I suspect that she'll have quite a few positive letters though too...I *highly* doubt there will just be a pile of angry letters.

The next election results, whenever they occur, will be the judge of that though...my money would be on her keeping her seat if she runs in the same riding.

Like i said, judging on the reaction around here from people on my street and seeing interviews on CKVR i think there are a lot more pissed off newmarket-aurora constituents at this point.

tally the # of voters from the election last time...subtract the people YOU have talked to...and the SELECTED people CKVR has aired.

Polls lead Harper to proclaim a Conservative majority in the weeks leading up to the last election...

She barely make it through last election (and I mean squeaked in).
