Well my parents have always been open to edm ... I guess if that's what the kiddo listens to the most you have no choice but to adapt.
I remember when one day my dad came up to me on the computer and asking me what I was listening to : Armin van Buuren Asot playing Hydra - Affinity. After that my dad listened to Asot weekly for quite some time. Odd.
Well this evening while I'm at the computer my father suddenly walks in the room and says:
John Digweed's not bad. He's got a good voice. I could listen to him when I'm travelling you need to burn me some cds.
I have no clue how he figured out it was Diggers as I hadn't play the show from the start
Parents are so odd.

LOL that is weird. My parents can't fuckin stand EDM! Whenever I put it on anywhere near them they start to bitch. They claim it's too repetitive and artificial...which it is, compared to other music. But hey...that's part of what makes it great! They just don't get it.

I'm too selfish to let my parents listen to edm. If they got into it they might be cooler than me and I can't allow that to happen.

I've let my mom listen to it. All she said was "Ah yeah, the Germans like that music."

I was listening to some trance set and my dad goes "they've been playing the same song for 3 hours, do they ever change?"...
they sort of made fun of the *thump**thump*, but they were never really bothered...

my mom likes way out west and she really liked Rochus "High Noon" smart systems remix (one of my alltime favs)... and my dad liked "Ready Steady Go" PMT remix...i used to play the shit out of that song in the car with my dad a lot and he'd be tapping his fingers to the beat on the steering wheel i could tell he liked it.
my parents seem to always like edm that has guitar in it and a beat that sounds like a regular drum (kinda like me)...they are both pink floyd, dire straights, u2, etc.. fans, so they like that kinda stuff.
my mom likes any remixed 80's songs too...i've played a few lexicon avenue remixes for her and new order "Crystal"...she liked that. song a lot too.

My dad's still in the Patsy Cline/Buddy Holly era lol.
Though I agree with him that old music like that is far better than the trashy chart music of today.

My dad likes the older ISOS discs, as well as the second disc of Nyana. He also kinda liked "That Matrix One" (Dieselboy - ProjectHUMAN). Oh, and my mom likes Ferry Live at Spundae.
