I believe that it is economics that is the only driving force causing Cuba to retain the third world status...

It is definetely not politically, or socially (society has been developing rapidly over the past few years)..These two areas has been Cuba's strong points...

i think any country that doesnt have a democratically elected leader has problems politically. only in the last few days there've been protests (not sure exactly how large tho) in cuba by those angry for democratic change.
