so the fan in my computer is making so much freaking noise, how do i shut it up? do i have to clean it or something?

Pour some water on it to clean it out.

nah maybe there is a wire getting rubbed by it if it way noiser than before?

Try cleaning.

Otherwise change the fan to a bigger/slower running one.

blowing compressed air or cleaning it is usually a temporary fix. just look at buying a new fan, they have lots of quite ones out now a days and there not to pricey. check out newegg.com or something like that that has online reviews to give u an idea which to buy.

The fan can also be loose or something.. try to put som pressure on the middle of the fan.. but watch your fingers

and make sure the pc is switched off too

if not, cooling systems can be fairly cheap these days

i fixed my noisy fan by turning my music up so i couldn't hear it, or by bashing the base unit, in the end i was telling people it was fucked & mr wicked neo says 'oh i have a spare one' and he posted me it the next day, he's not just a thread closer u know
