he doesnt combine them...
he takes the main lead synth *dun dun dun da dun*
then basically its the track...(nothing he does on stage unless he samples a loop through the mixer.) But he records a seperate melody of that synth and puts a long *release* on it and reverb. The release is how long the notes are, he probably has a long sustain on them too...
So its not enchancing the reverb live for every drum and beat. its more so already built in the track but the synth jsut has a really long release on it.

edit: idk if it serves any purpose maybe just to put a bit more "umphf" into the track, lots of artists do this. Listen to Mark Norman and their track Overkill.
I like it, its kind of a nice build up then you bring it all down with the percussion.
