New Sleep Thread

My sleep, as usual is all fucked up.

I have an odd situation though. Some nights I'll sleep little and wake up perfect.. those are usually nights that lead to sleepless nights the next (this one).

Some nights I'll sleep around 7 to 8 hours and wake up completely exhausted. Then again, some nights I'll sleep a bit and wake up in the night and roll around and not get back to sleep.

I'm fucking sick of it. With all the varying patterns I have to believe it's something underlying. At this point though, I'm just ready to get normal sleep.

My doc gave me a scrip for Sonata (zolpedom) and I'm pretty sure I've built up an imunity style tolerance. It doesn't help a bit anymore.

At this point I just want something that will knock me out at night or wake me up in the morning if I don't sleep well.

Think I'll try to get a walk-in apt today.

Guess I just wanted to rant.

I know exactly what you mean.

And those incredibly hot and humid summer days don't help one bit. When it's -50c outside, I sleep like a baby.

Haha.. isn't that the most potent benzo?

I'm guessing if he changes my meds he'll give me Ambien. To tell you the truth, if he'd just prescribe alprazolem or another benzo I'd sleep like a rock.

I know doctors don't wanna do that - especially since I'm 19. I'd even feel bad asking cause I know he'd suspect something was up.

Honestly though, if I have meds that are psychoactive but I truly need them, I wouldn't even think about using them for rec.

Hot and humid? In Canada?! Hahahaha!

Come down here for a week or so. Today the high is supposed to be 96 fahrenheit with 90% humidity.

^^it's that kind of day.

96f is 35.5555556 Celsius. With the humidex it's reaching up in the 40s today. 90% humidity as well. That's probably somewhere around 110-ish in F.

Whoa! What are the penguins up there gonna do?

Lame joke I know.

But seriously, I had no idea it gets that hot up there. Well, good luck with that. I have the day off and a doctor's appt at 3 to see about getting a different sleep aid, so I'll be inside enjoying my a.c.

Read up on it earlier. The media blew it up 'cause of its rep as the date rape drug.

You can still get it by prescription I'm sure.

that sucks for some of you. i sleep just fine.

i always wait until im getting a bit sleepy. i got to my room, dim the light some. take care of my bathroomo business, then read. i read until i cant read anymore and my eyes are almost shut. then i put the book down, turn off the light, and fall asleep on average within 5 minutes. and stay asleep until i wake up for good the next morning. but on the weekends, i stay up all night listening to the underground musik that plays on the radio that i cant hear nowhere else.

Climate doesn't have much to do with how far north you are. It's all winds and ocean currents.
