First time using native instruments battery so i need some help.
When you have a sample in each cell, how do you add an effect in the mixer to just one cell. Because at the moment in the mixer all the midi channels/ connected to battery are just one channel in the mixer, so it adds the effect to all the sample cells

Not possible i'm afraid. The battery does not have any send function for effects as such. The best you can do for instance is create three seperate VSTi's, all battery. And the output will go to three seperate channels. Then sequence the BD, HH and SD seperately.

All in all it isn't a good idea to overload on effects or EQ when it comes to the drums in a track. It's better to make sure you have a good sound to start with and tweak it just a little with effects and EQ.

If your comp. can't handle three soft-samplers at the same time, which would be strange but nonetheless. Record each seperate drumline(BD, HH, SD) onto an audio track and arrange them as you like.

With the Battery it's awkward cos you have to remember to save the collection of samples you have into a file. Don't forget to do this every time you make any change or it will all be lost.

Thanks alot for that, damn though it sucks it doesnt do it. Its gonna be a pain in the ass having lots of instances of battery loaded, but i suppose this pc can handle it

why create 3 battery vstis??
route the single cells to different audio-tracks and add effects in there (I just know it from use in Live).
no problem.

Edit: Or did I get you wrong? Because there in the right corner, theres this button 1/2, 3/4 ... there you can route each cell to a different audio output. you just have to scroll over it, then it changes.

Edit2´: Battery 1 or 2? Anyway, its the same in both.

most people i know, myself included... work on one section at a time in a wave editor and then when we are happy we import our final wav's into battery and sequence from there!

although this would work, there IS a simple answer to your question. basically, everytime you add a cell you'll need to assign that cell to a channel (look on the bottom right corner of battery). so now all your inserts will only take effect on whichever track you inserted them on.

In Battery, click on OPTIONS

in the top right there are two drop down boxes in the OUTPUTS section

one for stereo, one for mono

just choose how many STEREO channels you need and how many MONO channels you need and then click APPLY

you'll need to restart cubase/battery for the change to take effect, but then when you load up the mixer you'll see the stereo channels followed by the mono channels after the original BATTERY channel.

Then when you click on a cell, you can assign in the bottom right hand corner what channel it goes out on S#/# for stereo outputs and M# for mono .. just click and drag on the S1/2 that appears by default.

Saves some CPU time and having to load up all the samples a few times
