softward question in regards to vocals

hello all,

I am wondering if any of you know about any software that would allow one to separate the vocals from a song without taking out anything else from the song? can you please include what filters you would recommend (if any are needed for that particular program). thanks in advance

from what i know, any software that claims to do it will just remove a certain frequency from the track and not really remove the vocal. most of the vocal will be gone but so will anything else in that frequency.
