WMC Parties Reviews!!!
Well since there is sooo many different revies of parties, here and there, I decided to make my own, from the first to the end, so Im not reading soo many reviews left and right, and just keep them in one thread, soo here is mine..
Armada nite @ Spin:
I say this, last year's armada nite was alright, even though the overbooking of too many DJ's and soo little sets, I managed to have a good time, This year was alot better, Three DJ's, two hr sets, even though that is really not enough, it was better then last year, and it was great, the vibe, the crowd, the TA/CP family in full effect.
The club spin is nice, but needs to invest into some A/C and a cyro machine cause after a while that place is like a sauna.Remy started it off, and the first time seeing him live, was good, armin took over and did a good job, even though I have heard better sets from him, but oh well, havent seen the man in a year so it was a good set, and then markus came on to close out the nite, OH MY FUCKIN GOD, Last time I saw markus live was the disaster at space with Tiesto at space back in June 2004. Let me tell you this, Miami is hurting without this man, He needs to come get back and turn it up in Miami. The best part is when Markus dropped his reconstruction of Rank 1's breathing (breaks dub), never have I seen the crowd get into that track like before, and getting a markus chant was the best feeling u can get from the crowd and seeing the big smile on markus, like I said, Markus, you rock, you need to come home and bring Miami back to where it belongs, never a dull set with this man, never.
Thur nite-Sander/Matthew Dekay and others@ Spin:
Well since I bought a ticket for Tiesto, I changed my mind and didnt wanna go through the same situation like last june at space with the massive overcrowding, so I sold mine and checked out this event at spin. Even thought Im not a big house fan, seeing sander for the second time, and others for the first time was not a mistake, first DJ to the last DJ, kept me going with some tracks I could ID and the rest was amazing. unbelievable Either sander or dekay dropped this track-The Killers-Mr brightside (thin white duke remix), holy shit, now that is a sick tune, the rest of the nite is history, another good time at "club sauna"
TA Dinner@ Opa:
Well I dont know where to start or how to finish. Myself and brian for three months were working on this gig, and trying new ideas to have another big TA dinner, bigger and better then the successful one from the last year. I understand with the gig across the street at nikki beach was good, and some people couldnt reist on leaving, but when you are saying one thing about coming to the dinner, having two threads about it, making something like 25 pages on whats what and who else is gonna be there, It seems a lil shitty when half of the people that said that they were coming, never showed up, or have some type of lame ass excuse. Am I upset, bitter, at that point and time, I was, but now, I just take into effect if I will do this again for next year. Im not gonna sit here and bitch everyone out, cause that would make me look stupid, I just wanna say I am confused with people who say one thing and do another, racing through traffic and getting there early to get things prepared, so everything will go over smoothly. I know it was a pain in the ass to park and the traffic was sooo shitty, hell it took me 20 mins to find a spot, but at the same time, we all made it clear that everyone would be able to make it, maybe a lil later on, but no biggie, everyone would show, I would see like 15-20 peeps not showing but the amount of that didnt show was just shocking to me. With that, the management was another problem; since I told him I would have 160 people in attendance, I never gave him a guarantee on it, nor did I sign anything about it. The problem is that, after the appertizers were served, they were waiting on the rest of the people to show up, I had over 80 in attendace already, but for some reason they wanted the rest to show up, while the food was already made, and starting to get cold. This resulted in me getting into a heated argument with both owners, while ryan, brian, pat, hope and others were behind me backing me up and giving me support. After 1 1/2 of trying to straigthen this out, from talkign to the police and several other people, I gathered enough money to make these clowns happy. After that, I was sooo stressed about the whole thing, I wanted to call it a nite and go home and rest my head, with the shitty traffic, the poor attendance, and the ordeal with the management, I just had enough. I would like to take a moment and thank all of the TA's that made an effort and showed up and had to deal with the shitty staff and management, and helped me out in the end, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for coming out, it was a joy seeing all.
Edgar V/PVD/Ferry @ Space:
WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, The best party of the week, unbelievable. Even though it was held at space, the amount of people was moderate and room to breathe and dance, so it made it alot better. Edgar opening and getting the crowd going, wow, edgar, like always you rocked it, PVD on the decks for 5 hrs was better then his previous sets at space. Ferry came on and then from that point on, I dont have any words to explain about his set, everyone in the front of the DJ booth were just looking and shaking their heads, like what will he come up with next, un frickennnnnnnnnnnnnn believeable, at that point when the time come, around 9AM I had to go, my legs and having no food in my system for over 24 hrs was bad and if I stayed to his closing, I still be in the hospital right now, UNREAL, the best, the vibe, the crowd, and all of the CP/TA's, we are the ones that own the nite.
Sat nite:
Since not going to ultra, cause of too many DJ's, and short sets, I decided to relax, so sat was a hit and miss, hanging out at the pool and later on checked out Suzy Solar at nikki beach. After about 1 1/2 of listening to suzy, managment came out and decided to shut the outside down cause of noise complaints, and so after I took off and later on, checked out Picotto @ Spin. Getting there around 1:15, and leaving around 1:17, being dead, and I mean DEAD. I just couldnt understand it, I went up to a staff and asked what the deal was, and was told that a accident happen on I-95 and it was closed off and thought that was full of shit, but later on, finding out it was tru, but still leaving south beach around 1:30 and seeing no traffic coming in, just confused the shit out of me. Afterwards, I got hooked up with a space pass and venture on over to Space to checked out Deep Dish in the main room and Max Graham on the terrance. Well after a couple of hrs, to be honest, I tried, but I couldnt do it, DD and Max werent doing it for me, Im not talking shit, it just wasnt for me, I was doing "Funk like" dances to keep myself entertain, so said good bye to some peeps and hang outside Space to see the zoo that was going on, I think I had more fun outside there talking and hanging out with peeps then insid.
So there it is peeps, my review of the week and maybe next year I will hit up more parties, and expand my mind, maybe maybe not, till the next time, good seeing all of the usual and new peeps, I took pics but some didnt come out and there is too many, sooo sometime I will post them, now it is time for recovery and getting myself to come
