HappyHappy XenocreatoR - Freckle Says Yeehaa (256Kbps FULL)

I had fun making this one:

Genre: Experimental Psy Trance.
Synths: All done using Reason 3
Mixing/mastering: Sonar
Mp3 Quality: 256Kbps

Go to the link below & download the 'Freckle Says Yeehaa' MP3.

Link: Temporarily down. I have done major changes & have extended to song for an extra 3 minutes.

Have fun with it. Feedback is most welcome!

Oh man... le funky...

Still got your signature goofy style going on there at the start.

The synth at 1.00 come in a bit too loud. Either that or you need to separate it some more from the bassy synth and give them each more room to breathe. I think some more avante guarde patch programming could help it a bit too. I'm getting the feeling that some sort of dainty, sqeaky, talking style synth would work well here. The kind you hear on hallucinogen/shpongle style stuff.

3.00 Its got a really nice dark, feel here, I like it how you just drop it down to the beat.

3.29 Pads dont really work for me here. Pads and psy dont ever seem to work all that well for some reason. In place of them you could try some dark ambient style sounds maybe? Take any sample, slow it right down and stick heaps of reverb on it. It could work, anyway just an idea

4.07 break works pretty well. But it comes in a bit less full on than I was hoping. Those pads really mellow out the rest of those leads. I'd say it needs another layer of synths too just to really sell the intensity.

Nice track anyway dude, so much better than you last one but still clearly retains your style. You tracks seem to be getting some structure too which is good, even for experimental style stuff. Reminds me a lot of early Psytrance... Simon Posford, Prana, Etnica etc...

Be Cool! nice track

I like the blend of old and new, reminds me of electro, with an acid feel? It's got a nice feel good vibe with really cool 303's and synths. Always fun to hear something different y'know.

Ok. The bass synths are similar in sound & I was trying for a contrast with the high synth. Ill have a play around with some other sounds & see if I can get a sound that is close to the "hallucinogen squeak".

I love that notes of the pads rhythm so I might change it from pads to poly & see how that goes. Ill also try your Dark reverbed sample idea...

That's a good point. I will definitly charge up the intensity of this track!

but i tried streaming! worx:

psy is not my style (those melodies sound so weird to me), but the production sounds very good to me!
i like the driving bassline, good use of percussion to underline it!
the break could be filled with some more elements, sounds a bit empty!
maybe its genre-typical...no idea!

overall a good production, although i cant handle it!

hey, listening...

it starts out pretty nice, but to be honest i find those bouncy melodies a bit too much, i prefer music more linear.. 2:22.. wot, u add a bassline and some nice metallic sound, niiice.. and some acidized sounds, they sound cool.. 4:10 u got an excellent drive there.. but again u are bouncing notes

original piece as always.. never bad, takes my ears about 5 minutes to get used to the sound

still, great work, but a little more linear please?

The I think your lead could stand some more atmosphere, like delay or something. It kind of clashes with the pad sometimes because the pad seems to be hinting at atmosphere while your lead denies atmosphere.

Try to to something other than kick rolls to lead into your transitions; there are better ways to build energy.

Im not wired for linear processing Though I could always have a crack at it. What do you mean by 'bouncing notes'?

Thanks Subtle.

I recently replaced the pads with a poly layer. I will try delay on the lead, that could work.

Good point with the drum rolls. I do tend to be a drum roll freak, I should try other ways to build up. cheers jex!

thanks for the feedback guys. I have recently spent alot of time redoing this track. Your feedback is invaluable & has helped heaps. Ill post REV2 up soon.
