http://www.behringer.com//BCD2000/BCD2000_big.jpg

The B-CONTROL DeeJay BCD2000 will play, mix and scratch any WAV and MP3 files as well as other audio formats. The BCD2000 features a full-speed USB 4-channel audio interface plus high-resolution 24-bit A/D and D/A converters. It perfectly complements the included BEHRINGER B-DJ software or any other DJ software. And don’t let the cutesy looks fool you: this is an integrated, full-fledged audio mixer with a premium quality mic preamp, 3-band kill EQ per channel, ultra-precise faders, super-smooth crossfader and talkover function. The BCD2000 is packed with 2 state-of-the-art phono preamplifiers, one of which is switchable to a CD player. Its sophisticated headphone section includes PFL Mix, Split options and direct listening to master output mix. Play, Pause, Cue, Loop and Pitch Bend functions are regulated via dedicated controls for intuitive Djing, and 4 user-assignable controls and buttons are available for an integrated FX section. Take advantage of the enormous processing power of modern PCs and mix, scratch and manipulate digital music in real time—regardless of the format!

I see two problems with this...

A) It's software DJ. Sorry, but even for newbies this is a waste of time. You will only find yourself having to re-adjust when you start using regular equipment.

B) It's a Behringer product.

still you can train your ears to beatmatch...
and have fun at the meantime!!!

I heard it feels solid too
and dude 149 $ just look at the pricetag...
and tractor's pitch resolution beats most cdj's

I Think bying expensive shit wean you starting out is a bad idea.
by all means you will want to eventually upgrade
but this doesnt look like a bad piece of gear to start with.
A pair of belts does.

Its only behringer dj mixers and headphones that suck.

There studio equipment/ midi controllers are good.

Yeah I only worked with their dj equipment and it was just plain bad...

I guess just using it to train your ears is alright. Though you can do the same with just traktor or something and not have to waste your money on the psuedo mixing hardware. I would still just save up for a decent pair of decks, doesnt have to be techs right away, but a good pair of direct drive tables... Then a basic mixer. I've talked to many people who started off on a software based mixing setup and found they still had trouble making the change to regular equipment. Just getting comfortable manipulating the vinyl and finding your way around the mixer will work wonders in the future if you decide to stick with djing. You could always sell your equipment too if you find djing isnt right for you. I'm sure a pair of decks and a mixer will sell better then the above mentioned product.

+1
I started DJing on PCDJ and, although it's obviously no replacement for vinyl/cd decks, I really do think that it helped me learn the process of mixing, you know, cueing the track, listening to both at the same time and speeding up and slowing down while correcting the position of the track. So much so that, after I got my decks, I was able to beatmatch most every mix without trainwrecking after about 3 days.

Still, "I've got virtual DJ" doesn't have the same ring to it as "I've got 2 1210 MK5Gs"

EDIT: Maybe I should have actually *looked* at the picture before posting
I wouldn't BUY that. I was only prepared to buy something once I was sure I'd be able to DJ reasonably competantly. That was where the software came in. Once I could, I opened my wallet and got some decks.

Behringer equipment is pretty much ALL balls... We've basically got a Behringer built studio for one of our production studios at school, the console is inaccurate, loose feeling, and the sound quality is abhorrent...

I've worked on their mixers, both studio and DJ and used their monitors, never even bothered with the headphones, but everything I've seen is utter rubbish...

LOL!!! That thing looks like utter crap, and using it to train your ears?? Why not save up and get proper decks and a mixer and train your ears on those rather than spending $150 on this POS that you'll probably wan't to bin in 6 months.
