Some VST's are too large on the screen

Some synths like Albino 2 and z3ta fit nicely on the screen. But other synths like Minimoog V, Minimonsta..and recently I've been trying to use Kontakt 2 sampler but they dont fit on the screen very well... I am using WinXP so I go into properties and change the screen resolution to every choice in there but it then makes Kontakt 2 way too small. And the fonts are way too small as well on my sequencer. The resolution I use mainly is 800x600..but at this resolution for some reason some synths just go way off the page. But if I choose the other resolutions the synth will either be way too small or stretched in the wrong shape. I use a 17 inch monitor.

Does anyone know how to make these synths fit on the page properly?

thanks !!!

i use 1024x768 on my 17" monitor. i'm surprised you use 800 on yours. i feel it even looks a lot more professional looking at 1024 cause at 800 everything in general is oversized enormously. if i go passed 1024 the icons become to small to comfortably read. i can't really offer a suggestion other then switching to 1024, i'd be shocked to hear this being unbarably small on a 17"

woah...i didnt think people used 800x600 anymore...lol

i used a laptop 15" running at 1600x1200...its great, i can fit everything perfectly. thinking about investing in a widescreen though..

anyhow, i agree with bruuen...do 1024x768. its really not small, you will probably just need some time to get used to it

as for the distortion of the vsts...try updating your drivers, making sure you configure your screen properly...if its vga, then try different configs, if dvi then play with the software configs

exactly, when you change the screen resolution it messes with you and on first glance it feels unbarable, but after some time, it feels perfect.

it that doesn't work i guess you're SOL, or will need really good glasses.

why wouldnt i use 800x600? it is normal size. i think it was the default for winxp.. i dont remember changing it.. and it is so perfect. everything else is miniature... 1024x768 makes the font so small its difficult to read anything thats written on my sequencer or these synths now. i dont really understand this resolution stuff. it feels like im standing on the other side of the room looking at the screen.

I have an 17 inch LCD, and I use 1280 x 1024, and it works perfect for me.. any smaller and everything is so BIG, try picking an higher resolution, see if u get used to it..

and yeah, Native Instruments is very annyoing as they dont let you resize the window..

I have mine at 1152x864 its just perfect, higher resolutions take a couple of days to get used to but then theres no going back

to change your resolution right click anywhere on your desktop and select proporties, go to the settings tab at the top and then you will see a slider, slide it accross to 1024 or higher, now change your text size if you cant read it, go to apperance tab at the top and you will see font size, select the one which suits you best.

but 800x600 is for dittos who dont know how to use a computer eg they bought one from tiny or some crappy company

800x600 might be ok for regular computer usage (ie web & office), but for more specialised applications such as sound and vision higher resolutions are almost a must. I run a dual-monitor system comprising of 2x17" CRTs running at 1024x768 and even then I always seem to run out of desktop space.

Wow you use a higher desktop resolution - you must be so smart!

Anyways, I find that the best solution is to temporarily resize your desktop, tweak with your synth settings and then save it as a preset so you don't have to reach down those knobs every time.
