What's the dif?

Sony MDR-V700DJ & Sony MDR-Z700DJ ???

I see them both on sale on ebay, but the z700's are only like $10 compared to the v700's which are over $100.

Is it really worth that extra cash for the v's, or should I save my cash and get the same quality for the z's???

I searched for this same topic, something came up, but there was no info in the thread, please help.

Cheers

Well dude, I don't even see the MDR-Z700DJ on Sony's website...

I own the MDR-V700DJ, and while I think there are better phones out there, I don't dislike them as much as it seems a lot of people do...

[Headphone Rant]
And, if you decide to change your mind and switch brands for something else, all I'll tell you is that you'll hear a lot about Sennheisers, and while I think they're an average to good set of phones, they're fragile as all piss, I'd stay away....
[/headphone rant]

Cheers,

Rob

Yeah, I can be pretty reckless with my headphones at times, gotta have a durable pair!

Yeah dude, I don't know... All I know is they don't show up on Sony America's website...

Edit: It looks like it might just be a Japanese product... I'm genuinely confused...

Although dude, the one thing I'll say is, generally, if something looks too good to be true, it is.

Words to live by when considering headphones... It's really all going to come down to what you like...

The headphone debate is almost as polarized as American politics

"My mother bakes better cakes than yours!" F*ck it, the truth lies in the listeners ears. 10$ isn't bad to spend on those, and doesn't matter that much if they don't last.

Those are most likely the japanese versions. They are actually the same product, but on different continent. I've heard that you need to change the plug on them, but don't know that for sure.

Btw I use sennheiser hd-25, but bollocks to the debate. Advices are worth listening, but "because i own them they're best" -b*llshit isn't worth taking seriously.

That's just it, how do I know what's bullshit and what's advice?

Actually all dj-headphones sucks at quality when compared to the price, but that's how the "line products" are, none of them will last forever. Read the more advice giving statements, list all cons and pros to your mind or on paper. You have to give in something, but is it: price, sound, how they feel or something else, it's up to you to choose.

Go to some local shop and test those sonys (compare them to others), if they're good enough, buy the japanese versions on ebay. For "10$" they're propably best you can get

And it isn't hard to change the plug if needed, still unsure about that.

Most intelligent and reasonably dicussed headphone thread evar!!

This is truly a rarity... Not a flame to be found... yet

Almost brings a tear to my eye...

Seriously though, like pretty much everyone has said, try em out and decide on your own... You'll figure out what ya like...

And Specimen303 makes a great point... $10 isn't much of a loss if they're shite... but if they're what you're looking for, well then hey, I say best $10 ever spent...
