A question about a possible setup.

I'll start by saying that I've been mixing for a while. I can beatmatch, etc. just fine. Of course, I need a hell of a lot more practice before I can call myself decent.

My question is, I've been looking at Pioneer CDJ-100s. They're cheap, they're easy to use, and they're fun. Between two of those and a mixer, does anyone think that I would need anything else just to mess around with at home? I'm not sure that I do... other than speakers and headphones, which I already have.

Feedback would be appreciated.

Get some CDJ 200's...not much more than 100's I think.

You'll have a bunch more fun and better mixing with .02 pitch accuracy, efx and the beat cutter, also seamless loop. CDJ 200's are beasts. Just need scratching and I'd have them.

The only thing I can think of would be some type of recording device, whether it be recording software for your cpu and possibly a soundcard or a MiniDisc, etc.

I'm just now getting a real kick out of recording my mixes and putting them on cd. Makes me feel special.

what else you need? HEADPHONES! if you have that covered, good, if not, Sony V7506s, great price, great sound, great reliabilty.

other than that, speakers, but your home stereo will probably take care of it.

but yeah, make sure to check out CDJ-200s. much much much better than the 100s, and not much more expensive.
