You don't have to scrap it, just try tweaking it a bit so it sounds different. Change of key perhaps?

Yeah, only first bar of the melody is BOAA (and it is very obvious). The rest has no similarity at all.

I agree with the others. Keep the synths, but alter the notes very slightly.
Also remember that when you add other stuff, like the beat, it'll sound different.
