Another Day - Another Day (Tyler C Mix)

This is something completely different for me. I was shooting for a very atmospheric/melodic/chill progressive sound with this one.

I'm still very open to comments, as this is my first venture into this style. I'm not sure how much time I'll actually have to devote to polishing this up, but I'd still like some pointers.

Anyway, enough blabber.

Another Day - Another Day (Tyler C Mix) [preview]
4:12, 128kbps

Any comments would be appreciated.

i love that bass

it was great up until the 1:30 mark, all gorgeous elements.. after the breakdown though, there's nothing that stands out from the mix. it sounds like a blend of subtleties without anything to carry them but the bass.. that will sound dull on big speakers.

what you have so far sounds very good, all of the elements are clear and warm. i'm just missing something after the breakdown that will make me remember this track.

Thanks for the feedback man. I've tried to incorporate a lot more subtleties in my music lately, looks like I forgot a feature element.

Thanks for checkin it out.

I agree with this for the most part. I love the little elements in the track and for me they do stand out but it is your mastering and mixing which make them fall away a bit.

The kick is way too loud , it pushes away the little leadsynth and there is way too much low end in the track. Try to give it more highs, equalize it better and focus on those gorgeous little sounds and riffs more instead of the bass. If you make the melody stand out more I already think you have a nice relaxing progressive track on your hands.

Only thing I would furthermore suggest is that when the lead and beat and bass have all come together that you create an extra melody on top of the lead synth. This way you will add an extra atmospheric dimension. A nice reverbering warm string padd could already do wonders mate.

Cheers! Looking forward to the end result!

good call! the bass (though it is cool as hell) is too strong

can't really fault it anywhere else really, i love the atmosphere, keep it gangster.

Also, for the rest of you TAs, watch out for our next collab soon (Orana Project)

Have to agree with Kevin on most parts - I do also need something to make it more your own thing somehow.

It's very chilly, almost on the verge of trance and something loungy I think

I absolutely love this tune! It reminds me of some of Sasha's stuff! VERY refreshing!

I could imagine sitting on a beach listening to this! The melodies are perfect, the sounds are fantastic, and the atmosphere it creates is wonderful!

If you lower the strength of the bass (like Ethereal said), you'll have yourself one perfect tune!

I look forward to hearing more of your work.

Cheers!

Thanks for the replies guys.

The bass started out far too weak, so I put a boost on it, but I probably went a little overboard. I'll try to tweak it a bit more.

And in the remix I just completely left out the main melody from the original. I didn't really like it to start with and I just couldnt get it to fit. I may go back and try to incorporate it somehow.

reviewing this remix, but never heard the original...

- yep, definatly nice bass. clear example of how a simple 4x4 bassline and good synth programming can go a long wa
- i like that dubby part around 1:30 with all the tension and elements building
- try working with the buildup, just to develop even more tension and release
- melodically, and basically as far as your part as a remixer goes, i think this track lacks a strong lead synth line. For example take something like Vimana - Dreamtime. It has that lead guitar and then the euphoric lead synth which just builds the energy highe and higher. i think if u tried working someting similar into this, it would turn out to be an awesome tune.
