depends
It really depends on how much your willing to go to be a DJ.
Naturally, vinyl and tables sound much better (and are much more classy) than CDJ. Of course, vinyl nowadays is alot harder to find, and burning CDs is easy while plating your own vinyl can cost hundreds. My suggestion is to look at how soon you want to be a DJ, and of course, what kind of music you are going to play.
If you want to DJ right now and for less hassle, go with CDJ.
If you want quality over quantity, go with tables.

Eric: How can I explain Garage to you? Hmm....Mix DnB and Breakbeats together, throw in a lil bit of tech, then take your concoction, jump/piss/stomp/wail on it, and then you have garage.
