What does FP, LP, and all those abbreviations mean?

I'm a non-DJ. Just curious. Thanks!

you mean EP not FP?

Ep = Economic Play; single format record includes 2 or 3 tracks at the most usually

LP = Long Play; Full album on vinyl. That's not really used in the EDM context. If an artist releases his whole album on vinyl it's going to be like a 2 or 3 vinyl pack in most cases. LP is something from the older vinyl recording playing generations.

Thought ep was extended play, because it more tracks than a single release but not as many as an album. Correct me if i'm wrong though

I have always been under the impression that an EP was when artists releases their new stuff..a preview kind of or early release...or in a collection and an LP was either stuff from the final album, the final album or just a single release....maybe i'm half right about this lol...

You're describing a White Label or Promo.

LP should be a full album.

EP is for extended play. Its length in tracks is that longer than a single but less than an album.
