Jerky is one of my favorite things...

When the dog bites, and the bee stings, and I'm feeling bad.. I put a piece of smoked-meat in my mouth!!!!!

And then I don't feel so baaaaad!

actually any meat is good, smoked, dried, grilled, raw.. i like my meat.

Anybody ever make their own jerky? I'm thinking of buying a smoker and making my own. I tried once just in the oven and made some really salty stuff - I should have used a recipe with some sugar in it.

The rule is: Bannas before (while waiting in line), jerky after (while driving home).

And another important rule is: No mustard on the back seat of the car. I found a yellow crusty substance on the back of my driver seat yesterday....

I love JERKY!!!!!! Actually, i never made my own....but my buddy (and fellow TA - Tyson) his dad made the best jerky i ever had. He had a smoker, and trust me....its what puts the jerk in jerky!!! So good.

My dad bought a smoker this summer but he hasn't used it to make jerky yet. I smoked a chicken and my mom smoked some fish fillets. They are sooooo yummy. Pretty much anything that you like on a bbq you can make on a smoker but it takes soooo long.

We have this Polish butcher up in Timmins that makes amazing beef jerky.

but deer jerky is by far my favorite!
