Here is a jam from some recent stuff I've been working on, it's kind of a FTT vibe, I've been calling some of this stuff nestek in terms of genre but it's sort of between funky breaks, techhouse, minimal trance, or total uberg33kance haha, anyway it's worth a listen for sure.

Used a cheapie behringer tube pre to pump up the levels a little other than that it' just one NES and one Midines+FLStudio for Midi sequencing, recorded straight in.

hahaha..what is this? never heard anything like it. sounds like a mixture of a bunch of amiga/nes gamemusic thrown together in way too fast bpm

dont even know how to constructive critize this...except that perhaps you could do something better with the mastering on this..the levels on the sounds seems to clip..

ahhh..gotta turn this off, im getting anxious...

Well bummer on the bpm, it actually is pretty slow compared to higher energy things, well at least to me, however bpms can shift from sounding too fast to just right or too slow depending on what your listening on. Like listening on headphones this stuff sounds really slow, x_nights isn't that bad, but also depending on how tired I am, say like if I'm tired then it will sound fast, but usually I try and balance it. From how the bpm feels from headphones to speaker.

Speakers due to the distortions they create and the reverbs of a room, tend to make things sound faster than on headphones.

Anyway what this is, is a NES, yes you guess right, however x_nights is one big track. Midines turns the NES into a synth/sampler, so you can sequence it like any other sampler/keyboard (within retro limits).

So with X_nights I decided to try and just combine a few of the nightly jams I usually do into one big file. Rather than just a million bit and pieces of a track as is usual. Normally I can jam up 2mins or so per night of vibin material. I know it's easy to push for more, but I can't stand burnout, so I'd rather just go while I'm fresh jamming that way I'll look forward to the NeXT nights jam. Rather than turn it into some kind of arduous producer trek.

It's mastered like crap since I don't mind some gain / clipping, I'm aware that I don't have the sht hot mastering hardware you really need for a proper anything, so I just pump the behringer and leave it at that.
