ATTENTION!!!! Read this before you post mixes
To all newbie DJ's who wish to post their mixes here.
It has come to my attention, as well as everyone else in the free world, that many newbie DJ's here are posting downloads of their mixes in this topic looking for some type of overwhelming feedback from our forum members. There are some facts that you must familiarize yourself with before you decide to spam the hell out of your mix thread...
1. Not everyone here will download your mix. Just because you may see a high number of views, doesn't mean everyone of them has listened to your set. People will observe what you have to offer. If they like what they see from the tracklist, or the way you have promoted the mix, they will download it and give a listen.
2. Don't come on here and post a mix looking for everyone to give you high praise. You may get a few thumbs up here and there, or you may get some negative critcism. Either way, you must acknowledge the fact that very few DJ's in here will get hit with a massive amount of positive feedback. It's great if it happens, but don't expect everyone to kiss your ass for making a mix.
3. If you don't have anybody posting any comments or feedback on your mix, DO NOT spam your thread to try and force people to make comments just to make YOU happy. Here are some examples....
"Bump"
"I can't believe no one has posted any feedback yet"
"PLEASE give me feedback"
"Has anyone even listened to this yet???"
"What the hell is wrong with everybody??"
"C'mon...I put a lot of hard work into this. At least give some comments"
....and so on.
4. If nobody posts any comments or feedback, DO NOT bitch or complain that you're not getting any replies. This makes you look like a fool. No one will listen to a mix from someone who constantly craves attention like a crybaby. You must understand once again how many people are members of this website, and it is very easy for your mix to be overlooked, since there are around 50 or so new mixes that are posted here daily. Your mix might not get a reply for even a few weeks after you post it. Just put your work up here, and let it be. If people like it, they'll tell you. If they don't, they'll tell you even more.
5. Don't get discouraged if no one ever replies to your mix. It's again due to the sheer thousands of other DJ's posting mixes on here as well. It's a flooded market. Don't get down on yourself, thinking you did a bad mix. There are many big name DJ's and producers here who have posted a mix here, and little or no replies ever came their way. The best advice we can give, is to put a mix up on here, and just be satisfied with the idea that you put forth your best effort, and hopefully someone will enjoy it. Accept the reality that no one may give you feedback, whether they like it or not. If you are a feedback whore, then you obviously need to find a lower-populated web forum to post your mixes on.
Tranceaddict isn't the only place in the world where you can showcase your talents as an artist. Promote yourself on a wider scale. Go global with this bitch!! And most importantly, if you love being a DJ more than anything, you must NEVER give up on your dream, no matter how many people tell you that you should.
GOOD LUCK AND GOOD MIXING!!!!
