how do you deal...

with all those emotions overcoming you after a break-up??

This weekend marked an end of a relationship I have been in for quite a long time with someone I care about deeply.. but yet we've decided that there is no future.

At this point, I can't remember the last time I was this miserable.. maybe you can offer some tips for getting over this rough time..

Just acknowledge that it's not the end of the world, and that you will survive!

Sad

awwwww I'm sorry to hear that That sucks...

I haven't been in a serious relationship in a while but I think that summer time is not a bad time to be single ...I think winter is more depressing and it's better to be in a relationship, but summertime is party time, I hope you won't be sad for too long...we'll cheer you up at Tiesto

Breakups suck though ...try punching something...having some good ice-cream

I recommend promiscuous sexual activity for a prolonged period of time.

joking of course. I can't answer that question for you, time is the only thing, I know of that'll work.

I'm sorry to hear that, and I feel your pain, since I was in a very similar situation. We were together for almost 5 years, and after such a long time seeing it end in nothing was just horrible. Thing is, that time taught me a lot about myself, and I don't deny that this person has had an amazing impact on my life. That's something you should realize too. Now, it's time to focus on yourself and what you want. Take it easy if you want. The one thing that made it easier for me was basically finding someone who DID want the same things that I do... it may seem like it's too soon, but as I said, it's time to focus on 'me' and go with what feels right. I hope that you don't dwell on it too much, as you'll only make it much more difficult. In the most immediate sense, keep yourself busy and don't give your mind an opportunity to wonder too far.

The best thing to do after a long loving relationship, that I've found, is to sever all connections with the person. Anything reminding you of them should be disposed of. Don't talk to them. Don't try to be friends. 99 times out of 100 it just doesn't work.

Also, find your buddy Jose. Cuervo, that is.

There really is no way to deal with it other than accepting it and riding it out. For a while your stomach will be in knots and you'll be hearing ppl asking "Where's so and so?" whenever they see you in months to come.

Thing to remember here is that while you two went into the relationship with only the best of intentions for each other ultimately along the way factors changed. Learn from the experience and move on -- I have seen friends change for the better after certain breakups - it's kind of like a placemarker in your life - whether it was a toxic relationship or seemingly 'perfect' - it gives you a reality check - not to mention a chance to focus on you.

It'll be tempting to 'rebound' from this to make up for that emotional gap but in the end you often end up losing from that... although.. it can be fun.. but.. empty.

Just listen to some music.

sorry to hear of the end of what seemed to be a good thing.
a few things that worked for me when i was in the same predicament as you..
1)Cry when you need to - nothing worse than the choked up feeling for prolonged periods of time.
2) Dance lots -losing yourself to the beat is a wonderful way to exercise your way out of misery.
3) Watch your drug intake- works wonders for escaping but I found the aftermath all too horrible.
4) Hang out with friends who can be silly s wascally wabbits bec. these are the people who will look for any excuse to put smiles on your face.
Finally- time is the best medication for breakup. GIve it time- surround yourself with positive people and repeat mantra- "this too shall pass" about kajillion times a day.

Good luck and keep your head up...

n.

This might be a little hard for her to do since her ex is a TA. Be strong AdReNaLiNa, things do get better with time. I too got out of a long term relationship not long ago. You should just try to think about the future and not dwell in the past.
