Top Gear sample
Opus 17 sample

Top Gear is pretty original techtrance, doesn't sound like anything I heard before.
Opus 17 sounds like a happy version of The Orange Theme. I don't know yet whether that's a good or a bad thing

Got to say that I've only heard them on the samples and on A State of Trance. I think both of them sucks ass. Really bad stuff, Old Rank1 was good, This is crap. Sorry about that.

Top Gear is actually pretty good, I'd like to hear a proper version of it. Glad to see the Rank 1 boys continuing to explore that techy sound. Opus 17 is vintage De Goeij with the orchestral break, and the lead has an interesting sound, but the actual melody isn't doing much for me. Seems like they could be doing much worse at any rate.

Top Gear takes a while to get used to probably.. i'm not entirely convinced of its quality either, but my opinion might change when i hear it on a big system

you've got to give them credit for originality, though

Don't know, I listened a couple of times to Top Gear just because it was Rank 1 (if it were any other performer, I wouldn't even have bothered): no improvement to speak of. Original, yes; but that speeding-up effect really just sounds like noise to me. Had a slightly similar feeling with that effect on Angelic - It's My Turn (Rank 1 Remix), you know; that kinda grew on me a little, but this...
Still looking forward to hearing Opus.

Never mind me, I go UPLIFTING or STFU on all artists

Well i heard the ASOT rips as soon as they were available, Opus 17 is really good, good melody. Top Gear is also top stuff, cant wait until i get these on vinyl,cd.

Also i personally asked Benno in Rank 1 chat at there site if he would ever do a supersaw trancer again and he said him and piet have finished with the supersaw sound
