Heh, certainly not remotely close to the wackiness of Jig, Amble & Lisp. Still and all, Head.phon is unique in its own right and quite different from the rest of the stuff on Harthouse. I doubt he'd take a relish to it as it deviates from trance not a little. Or, who knows...maybe he will. |
All I know is that as I listened to the CD my hopes increased until I got past Trental the tracks started to sound like your standard european/german techno.
My guess is the one that would be the most difficult to get into is the Spicelab album as it requires patience to listen to. Monster tracks with usually more than one movment with sounds gradually introduced, removed, and reintroduced over nearly 20 minutes of track.
The Arpeggiators album is straight up classic German Hard Trance. The kind of stuff they played at Das Omen, in fact Express Yourself is a track dedicated to that club.
And i'm sure you'll find something to like in the Carry On Harthouse compilation. It has harder tracks, softer tracks, acid, melodic tracks...meh.
Yes you can buy all these and many more used from Amazon.com, usually at a fraction of the full price and in nearly mint condition(no scratches on cd, all inserts, etc).
