Unhappy Tune Inn go bust

quote:
Hi

I would like you to know that Tune Inn has today gone in to voluntary liquidation.. (We have gone bust!!).

The Mp3 race has caught up with us and unfortunately seems like it may well be the end for vinyl.

I would like to thank you all for being great customers. It has been a great 9 Years and we have all had the best times of our lives doing what we did.

Thanks again

Pete Gawtry

Yeah I got that too, real shame

Always used to use it for the little bits of techno I couldn't get elsewhere!

This probably also mean that Yin Yang records will vanish too (still waiting to hear from them on this), hopefully Pete will still keep producing though! We need more Pedro Delgardo

such a shame...is vinyl really losing out to digital-technology?

No
small business- increasing overheads, not a well known shop by any standards- although I have used them before myself and was impressed.

I could name probably hundreds of record shops I know that have closed down over the last 10 years- some before mp3 arrived.... doesnt signal the death of vinyl at all. Its called business.

blaming mp3's is kidna gay, they coulda jumped on the digital download wagon to keep the shop afloat. but they choose to do nothing about itand went bust.

kinda strange because they were voted best recordshop 2003 in the i-dj magazine i think. i don't think they went bust because they didn't jump on the digital bandwagon it could be bad business.

i don't think for a shit digital sales would affect the economy for recordstores only selling the vinyl or cd format it's only a lame excuse they came up with. vinyl still going strong and well. long live vinyl!!!!

Its a biiig shame, tune inn where amongst the best....always decent with new records, regularly getting in promos weeks ahead of other places. And it seemed so sudden...one day buying records of them like normal the next .... real shame
