Yeah, it's awesome. Actually one of the first music I really got into, at the tender age of 8. Be sure to check Equinox also, another awesome piece of music.

I'm reading this dude's bio and he's in the guiness world book of records for a 3.5 million audience concert.

I also heard that theres video footage of him performing, and he performs on a good number of synths at the same time.

The concert in Paris? Yeah, we saw a recording of that in music class a few years ago. It's awesome.

I think it was in the early 80s me being 3-4 years old when i heard Oxygene for the first time.. it came out in 1976. What an amazing piece of work it is, especially the original 6 parts. I'm not really a fan of the 7-13 (except for some remixes; Sunday Club and Takkyu Ishino mixes of Oxygene 8 are great). Jarre and the other pioneers of the era, Kraftwerk released their first (and best IMO) works in the 70s-early 80s and lots of people are still wondering how did they do electronic music that good with the equipment available at the time so long ago.

Most of Jarre's outdoor concerts around the globe have had hundreds of thousands to millions people, some more, some less. The concert in Paris (1990) had "only" 2.5 million people while 3.5 million were in Moscow (1997) I've seen him performing live 2 times, both times absolutely fantastic, great shows for both eyes (cool visuals) and ears (and even better music).

He is a true pioneer in electronic music, a wizard with synthesizers and knows how to please the crowd.

Too bad i've never seen Kraftwerk live but maybe some day....

Anyone know what kind of equipment that was used way back then? I know that some bands went to great lengths to get a perfect sound such as a gunshot that can now be done by the push of a button.

You can prolly get that info from two possible sources (that I know). The producers forum on TA prolly has some guys who can help you. The reason forum is another damn good place to look since a lot of audiophiles, producers, wise old guys post there.

did anyone the 100th celebration of HC Andersen from Denmark?
He was playing there and the lightshow was truly amazing. And the most spectacular thing was when he was playing on some wicked synth which was made out of lighting beams. Never seen anything like it
