what exactly are the advantages of soldering the rca cables in? it would seem like more of a hassle to move them when they are together like that. also, if someone was to do this, wouldn't they want to make sure the rca cables were of premium quality (not necesarily 'monster cables' but just of a proper enough width or whatever to ensure maximum quality?
as for quality, i thought the quality of a wire/connection was only as good as its weakest 'link' or section. and maybe im wrong, but aren't the ends of the rca's pretty big, meaning most quality lost would be due to the actual wire and not the connection area?? im not the most knowledgable of sound technicalities, so any knowledge shared would be great-

the rca cables must be soldered because they are "built in", as in they are soldered inside the turntables when you buy them
the ends of the rca wires may be pretty big but being a connection they can get dirt and oxidation between the 2 bits of metal which can make the connection inferior
The "weakest link" analogy dosent really hold up in electronics because the effects are additive, as a very crude example (these numbers are just for an example and are no way accurate) if your rca connection has a resistance of 1 ohm and your wire has a resistance of .1 ohm the total resistance is 1.1 ohm, if your connection has a resistance of 1 ohm and the cable has a resistance of .5 ohm the total resistance is 1.5 ohm, if we used the "weakest link" principle both configurations would be equal because they are limited by the rca connection, this is clearly not the case
