I am new to these forums as this is my first post. I am 27 and have been listining to dance/trance music for a long time. I like these forums as alot of times I get a name to the music I have heard. Some of my favorite tracks/artists are:
ATB
Paul Oakenfold
Paul Van dyke
Prodigy
Faithless
Daft Punk
I was wondering if you had any suggestions as far as artists or names of songs go. Seems hard to place a name on exactly the type of music I like as alot of it seems to be multiple types. Such as House, proggresive, trance and what not. If this makes any sense I really enjoy the songs that are EPIC I guess. The song builds up as it plays.
I would love some suggestions. Thanks for your help fellas.

Keep listening and you'll find out what you like the most, and welcome to the forums.
You'll find tracklists there from a wide variety of DJ's, a few of which you have already mentioned. My best advice for finding good music is to find it for yourself, since everyone's idea of what is 'good' varies. Searching through the archive will also expose you to various other artists, different genres, etc BUT the most important thing is that you will learn about it all for yourself. You know, give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day; teach a man to fish and he'll eat forever.
Welcome to the forumns.

Well none of those you named are house or progressive. If you like music that builds up than that is what progressive is all about. That is if you are talking about the set building up and not the song. If you like songs with overexaggerated buildups than what you like is trance. You should get into being able to spot genres by ear because then you will know what kind of genre you like, and in turn that will help you in your search for music of your preference. Best advice, stick around and visit the forums every day to keep up to date on whats going on, and learn about music. Also, just keep listening to the music man.
