Play back of a recording (Very odd!) <----- Need Help

Ok, so i searched, and ive been on here for ages reading this section almost everyday and im pretty sure no-one else has had this problem, but hopefully someone can help me.

The Problem:
I'm recording from my decks to my computer which works fine, i record the track in perfect quality, I then play the track with my headphones on (Sony MDR-V700's), it sounds exactly like the vinyl does, hooray we're doing well. However the problem is that i then try to play the same track without my headphones on, so it's playing through the computer speakers, the highs and mids sound great, however the bass just isn't there! i get the kick sound, but no deep backing bassline at all. So to make sure it's not my speakers that are stuffed, i get the mp3 from the net, then play that through my speakers and it sounds JUST like when i have my headphones on for my own recording of that same track.

In Short:
My speakers dont play MY recordings of tracks properly (the bass isnt there), and i know for a fact the recording has the bass as i can hear it clearly when i use my headphones. Its as if my speakers know its my recording and are telling me to piss off.

My Equipment (this shouldnt matter cause i get the recording perfect anyway)
Deck: Technics 1200 MK5
Mixer: Numark DXM01 USB
Cartridge/needle: Ortofon OM Pro
Soundcard: Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS (recording to the "line in")
Speakers: Logitech Z3
Headphones: Sony MDR-V700
Track I used: Perpetuous Dreamer - The Sound Of Goodbye (Armin's Tribal Feel Mix)

I'm at a loss as to why my recordings wont be played properly through my speakers when they play other mp3s perfectly

Please help, and ask for as much additional info as u need!

Thanks, really hoping someone can help

Since i have the same mixer im going to take a stab at it.
Does playing with the sub-bass knob do anything for you at all?
And why dont you try just using the usb, it should even be better quality then the audigy.

Read This! it's def a software setting

I'm not sure but this is a guess.

Each playback application such as Windows Media, iTunes, Quicktime, Real Player, etc... have EQ settings for playback. (I'm guessing the bass is turned down)

You maybe using a different program to playback your recorded mix. I'm guessing it's soundforge maybe. the MP3 playing back through Windows Media Player.

Try exporting your recording as an MP3 and play that back using Windows Media.

It's a shot in the dark but it could be the software.

Also, what program are you using to record?
Programs like sound forge have graphic eqs that can help you tweak your recordings. Also, Audacity has a bass boost effect that may help. The best thing about Audacity, it's free.

Im using Soundforge 7

The problem is not the recording, that comes through perfectly fine, when im listening to it with headphones on the sound is great, its just that when i dont have headphones on and its just my computer speakers, the low bass lines just arent there at all, my sub sits there and doesnt move, as if someone has taken my recording and simply cut the low end out.

I used soundforge and winamp to play back my recordings, ive tried mp3 and wave files and nothing seems to work.

any more ideas? i think it must be a setting in windows somewhere but i have no idea where!?

Ok, i burned a set of mine onto CD (made an audio CD using Nero) and played it using the computer, sounded like crap (no bass as usual), so i then took the cd and played it on my home stereo, sounds great!

I emailed Soundblaster cause its gotta be something on the soundcard, i have no idea what, but that's the only thing i can think of now.

Still no ideas?

Reading this it seems to be something with your Logitech Z3's not the soundcard? You say your headphones are alright, and your home stereo is alright, but everytime you play through your pc speakers there is no bass...

Have you tried plugging different speakers into your pc to test the soundcard?

If you read the thread properly you would relise the problem isnt that simple, it would have been solved by now. Its that only the recording he made doesnt have the bass on his speakers.

Try re-encoding the file with a few different encoders/formats and try recording somethine else aswell.
