Smiley DJ Christopher Lawrence & Steve Gibbs

Hey TA's,
These two DJs are coming to town soon and i was just wondering if anyone has seen either of these two live? What style do they spin? Are they worth seeing? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

don't know about steve gibbs but christopher lawrence is an amazing dj. but it all depends on what you like. if you're looking for the uplifting cheese style that dominates this board then you will be disappointed. if you're looking for NRG-trance or whatever the hell they call it or hard house then you will be disappointed. if you are looking for tec-trance or progressive trance then christopher lawrence is one of the best IMO. his bpm's are around 125-135 but his mixing is excellent and he really knows how to get you grooving. i've seen him five times and every time he has been amazing. he's a dancer's dj and not an e-tard's dj. if you like to dance then he can get you grooving but if you want dj's that play music to make you peak longer then he's not for you. all of my e-tarded friends hate him cuz he gets a good groove on and doesn't give highs and lows. check out one of his cd's: rise, temptation, empire, or united states of trance for a good sample of his music. his style doesn't change. if you check it out, let me know how you liked it.

Eric's description of CL is dead on.

If you:

a) like uplifting Euro trance
b) love hard house
c) like sitting around

you will not like Christopher Lawrence.

But he is technically one of the best prog/deep trance djs that you will ever see. His music keeps going and going, but I must disagree with one point - if you are an e-tard, you will LOVE his music. His sets will take you on a journey no matter what state of mind you are in. And one important thing to know about him, his cds are not a fair representation of what he will play live. So don't judge his abilities by his cds.

yep, lawrence is deep, dark progressive trance... its alright but can get boring... some of his anthems are great tho
i wuz spose to see him here tomorrow but he has an ear infection or something, cancelled...

steve gibbs is a kickass producer... aka altitude (excession, nightstalker)
dont know what he spins. but his productions are very melody based.. quality
