CDJ users, how many songs per cd?

I was just wondering, when the CDJ users out there burn cd's to mix do you burn a single song on a single cd or a couple songs on a cd?

With the price of cd-r's now i'd probably burn a song and any remixes of that song to the cd..

however i don't own any cdj's so i'm not sure what the norm is..

Just thought i'd share my opinion.

I normally put 4 to 5 songs on each cd and burn at 8X. If I have more than one mix of a song I'll put them on the same cd. I try and put songs on one cd that I won't want to mix together.

As long as you don't burn at 48X and cram the cd with songs there's no problem. I have a 128 cd wallet so carry about 400 tunes.

i put as many songs as I can on there and burn two copies. If I bought more than a cd worth of songs I try seperating by genre. But I just label it with the day I burnt the cd, then print out a TL with a few notes on it.

Yes, I do this myself. Seperate by genre, burn as many tracks will fit on the CD, and then make two copies. This will give you the greatest flexability while using the least amount of CD's.

I suggest picking up a printer capable of printing on CD's. I got the Epson R200 for under $100, and printable media can be picked up on-line for next to nothing. I then just print the date and tracklistings on the CD's themselves.

I usually put five on a CD, but that's not a bad idea.

I put anywhere between 2 and 8, depending on how many singles the artist has put out, or remixes of the single. If there is a lot of remixes of a particular tune and the artist has released a lot of singles, then I divide it up between one disc being all original mixes, and the other one being remixes. Makes sense to me....

As many as I have room to write clearly on the CD with artist, song, key, and BPM info.

My friend reversed engeneered the .nro files from nero and has made a database.

So i fill my cd's each full (9-11 songs per cd), make a 2nd copy, and then have the title, location and artist/remix all in a database on my computer or paper printoff (though 270 cd's = 40 pages)

Im going to get him to release that software. PM me for it

That's why I do it so you can see it on the CD because I hate flipping through printouts to find tracks.

Printable CD's. You'll never look back. I just create the tracklist in iTunes and burn it. I then have a CD labeler program (disclabel for the Mac) that imports the tracklist automatically from iTunes (so I don't have to type much). Print it, and you're done. Nice and neat.
