Yeah, I don't think these boards are big on ambient... I posted an ambient track a while ago and it got no feedback whatsoever and just slipped away into the abyss.
I really like this though. I'm almost forgetting it's playing; very casual setting I have here, just basically being bored and talking to people on MSN, and it's really fitting my mood right now. The bit where it dies down to just the, err... harp thing, is really cool. I love the way you've filtered the sounds, mega-chill. And the filtered percs in there really work too.
Not sure about the percussion in general though... I mean, I like the ethnic sounds idea and it goes well with the theme of night. But some of the blips and clicks are a bit scattered, and the deep bassy kick kinda spoils things a bit.
Pretty good for a "few hours" though. If you wanna take this further, I'd suggest reworking the percussion so it's a bit more refined and easy on the ears. And you could also add some nice fx in there too, so there's a bit more variety across the 10 minutes.
