WAYNE ABRAMS (Reverend Velvet Sheen) GUITAR/VOCALS
The Reverend sweated out the 1970s on the funky fringes of the formerly great amazonian rain forests, caught up in the tumult of a war between communistic
opportunism and ungodly common wealth. funkiness provideth and worketh in mysterious ways, and Rev. Velvet Sheen washed up on the shores of the rocky
mountains in october 1983 Anno Funki, living with mountain people, virgin to the ways of the bedroom, never hath beholden the majesty of Jimi Hendrix's are
you experienced, or Led Zeppelin's Led Zeppelin IV for that matter, whilst in an altered state.
The Reverend paid his dues in countless blues jams in basements and dingy stages on all the continents of the universe before abruptly switching gears, and
going into producing music, as opposed to merely playing it. to date and in that capacity, the reverend has worked with other funky outfits like Toronto Dub Poet,
El Machetero, and production duo JK47. as one element in the fine production unit Funke & Fonke, Rvs. is crafting songs that demand to be blasted at high
decibel levels throughout the funkosphere. this body of work has been created through collaborations with such luminary divas as Penny (the bodacious),
producer/songwriter Picolina (the dirty minded) and american idol songwriter, Joel Parkes (the open minded).
The songs are funky. they speak the the hips, the croon to the heart. They gyrate in the hallways of your very mind. now behold the truth, for the truth shall set
you funky. if you see this man, please notify his record company, at once. presently the reverend's whereabouts are as unkown as the real intent behind the
existence of the universe. let funkiness reign, let funkiness reign, let funkiness reign, until we funk again.
MICHELINE CARONE (Picolina) VOCALS

Born into a multi-cultural family, Micheline is of of italian/french heritage. Rumour has it that she started singing as soon as she could walk. At the age of 2 this
anomaly of talent belted out Freda Payne's “Band of Gold”. Growing up on Hendrix, Zeppelin, Otis Redding, The Beatles, James Brown, Janis Joplin and so much
more, have grounded this girl’s musical background. Soul music has always taken residence inside her. She started collaborating with songwriters at 17, and
worked as a session vocalist, releasing her first solo single at 19, on Detroit's Vibe Records label and performed live to support the album in North America.
A true Gemini, Micheline has been a part of several recordings, live projects and collaborations, including an original composition in a french film called
‘Un Matin dans une Fôret de Pins’. Working with musicians, producers and other vocalists for the past 20 years has given Micheline the confidence and well
trained ears to develop her own sound as a songwriter/producer. What does the future hold?, we asked. Reply: “I don’t know – whatever happens, I want to
really live it”. Micheline’s heart lies in the ‘feeling’ and the nostalgia in music, no matter what the genre.

Ever loving, ever learning Que joined InnerActive as an Engineering and Production guru along with the Reverend Velvet Sheen. Musically ruled and technically
gifted Que brings the rhythms from all four corners of the globe. Internationally minded, Que’s engineering and production background with his tenacity for
learning adds yet another colourful piece in the InnerActive puzzle.
PHILIPPE MARSAN (Embassador Tickler) DRUMS
Born and raised in Montreal, Philippe took interest in music at a very young age and studied several instruments. As a teenager, he played in several bands, touring
"la belle province" and playing in all of underground Montreal's shadiest joints. His drive to study with the best teachers in the country motivated his move to
Toronto where he met the Reverend Velvet Sheen at a late night jam session. His high impact drumming style fuses the best of funk and jazz into a tranceinducing
mixture that implies a deep understanding of new styles such as hip hop and drum‘n bass. Traditional jazz studies haven’t stopped this frenchman from
experimenting with sound. The Tickler’s ideal situation is an earthy production with layers of feel, feel, feel.
ROB BROWN (The Bubba) BASS

Joined the army at the age of 7 and earned many medals and badges, including a sewing badge and a Purple Heart. He was the single cause of the Falklands
War between Britain and Argentina. After being kicked out of the army for lying about his age, he lived an ordinary life as a produce farmer. One night an angel
came from heaven and said, “whatever you do, don't go into music or there will be dire consequences”. Needless to say he did not heed those warnings and
now George W. Bush is in the White House, and the “Moral Majority” is going strong in the USA. But at least there's some slick grooves.

ASHLEY WEY (Little Shorty) KEYS
Born and raised on the west coast of Canada, Ashley Wey began studying traditional music and fundamental techniques, at the age of five years old, before
moving on to Jazz, Latin and Funk ten years later. By the time she was fifteen, she was performing professionally, and composing and arranging music for
bands of all sizes.
Ashley is currently working in and around Toronto as a freelance musician with Soul Stroke, the Jim Heineman Trio, Martha and the Muffins, the Parachute Club,
as well as with her own group, the Ashley Wey Trio. Ashley has studied with, and absorbed the piano stylings of George Cables, Hilario Duran and Don Thompson.
She received the Duke Ellington Memorial Award for arranging from Humber College, and the prestigious Fraser MacPherson Music scholarship. She has
performed in the Victoria and Toronto Jazz Festivals.
PENNY HAYWARD (Miss MoneyPenny) VOCALS
Miss MoneyPenny wants to expose her individual soul! She always gets the attention of the crowd with her powerful voice and evocative harmonies. She began
her singing career at the age of seven performing at local churches - eventually taking the lead in various gospel groups, theatre and local jams. Currently, she is
diverging into various projects which include experimenting with soul, funk, R&B and electronica. With the help of a couple local DJ’s, (JK47 and the Reverend
Velvet Sheen) her first song was released on vinyl which you can hear on high rotation on the club circuit.
