Let's say you're the type of guy who will only date a girl if you want to get into a serious relationship with her, instead of just for getting in her pants. And let's say you REALLY prefer X type of girl over any other girl, for whatever reason (say, X = blonde Y = brunette, for simplicity's sake).

So if you had a chance to start dating a Y girl, would you not date her, for fear that an X girl might be just around the corner or something? Or that you don't want to be stuck with a Y girl (though awesome), and have an ideal X girl suddenly appear when you're already tied up with the Y girl?

I dunno if this makes sense because if you are with a totally awesome Y girl, even the coolest X girl who comes along won't matter because you are happy (in theory) with the Y girl.

I would only go for an XX girl, because a girl with a Y is a man, baby!

Dating is dating, IMO you just need to be open about it with your X or Y.

If it's a Y I think you need to be up front and say "look, we're just dating right....unless you turn into an X or something."

Oh and since you're bitching I'll contribute to your thread. You might think that you like "X" type girl and all of a sudden one day you decide to take a chance with "Y" type girl. A multitude of options await:

1) You totally hit it off with "Y" type girl. Why sell yourself short and miss out on potentially a great relationship because you're waiting for someone who you think is more "your type."

2) You date and decide it doesn't work. You stop seeing "Y"

3) You date "Y" and things are fine, and then girl "X" comes along and blows you away and you come to the conclusion that you'd be happier with girl "X". At that point, you make a mature and adult decision and decide to talk to girl "Y" and tell her that you've met somebody who piques your interest more, and in respect for her feelings you want to tell her before leading her on any further. Yes, it's going to sting, but sometimes the hardest decisions end up being the best for you in the long run.

funny enough I just talked to a guy about this kind of situation. If you are going to be with girl Y in any way shape or form, be completely committed; it's not fair to her for you to be looking ahead of her instead of at her.
