Paul Van Dyk ..... ?

I just came back from ibiza , it was a great trip ...
had a very good time .

i went to cream's 10th anniversary party at amnesia , where tiesto , nu-nrg live and pvd were all playing .

Tiesto was surprisingly very good , track selection was nice , mixing was good , i expected a bad set , but he was very good

Nu-nrg live were very cool , to see them play live was an experience .

But Pvd , here is the shock , he was awful !!! from the beginning , until the last track . track selection was poor , very monotonous and repetitive , the re-works he played made the set boring , i dont know , i was a very big pvd fan , but now ,,,, not sure !

i hope this is not how all his sets are those days

I was at the same event and thought Paul Van Dyk was the only good thing about the night to be honest.

I thought Tiesto was pretty poor and played dull, uninspiring tunes and generally didn't look interested but maybe thats because I've went right off Tiesto in the past year.

PVD I thought was great, played a good selection of new and classic tracks, generally looked like he was loving it and played on till 8.15 or 8.30am rather than the 7am Finish. I dunno if he had a bit 2 much to drink or that by the way he was acting but for me he played a great set and his mixing was seemless.

Will

I have to admit I was more of a teisto fan unil i witnessed pvd a couple of months back in Seoul Korea, totally rock the fucking joint. For almost 4 hours he played and played a truely magical set and had the croud eating out of his hand from start to finish. He was booked for 3 hours, but kept on playing cause everyone was locked into the music. click below to see what I mean. Crasy night!

oh my god that set looked savage. anyone know the id of the last track he played on that clip???

i'm afraid i'm firmly in the pvd camp. i think he does sets like no other in the trance scene, playing tracks with lots of variation and drive. he's loved world over for a reason and i think he should get the vote of no 1 dj in the world this year cause its been a long time coming. he has my vote anyway.

ok , maybe i should re-evaluate that night , since i am the only one who thought he wasnt very good . Pvd's mixing is spot on , i would never go there ... but i dont know , i think for me , keeping the same beat and bass for 30 minutes straight ( pvd re-works or re-edits ) is not my idea of a good set .

and that specific set , didnt have enough vocals in it , again this is a matter of personal taste .

i guess i will have to see him again soon , to decide for myself .

but that night , tiesto's set was great , imo ofcourse
